While getting bored of working on the same game (FOOOOOOOOOOREVER) I read through the XAS vs Blizz ABS thread.

While it's pretty humorous seeing the extremities that one would go to defend an ABS.. it does serve a point. Since I've used the majority of ABS's on RMXP I know my way around each one of them. So to settle the argument once and for all.. I will make a twenty minute example demo with each one of the ABS systems I've installed on my comp.

NeoABS [/b] - Disqualified due to glitchy handling of refreshing health.

On top of giving me experience to help me in my game making this will exonerate any bias that lingers towards ABS's.
As somoene that used almost every ABS out there I've found that BLIZZABS is one of the most compatible and simplistic public ABS's in existence.


The self imposed Rules for myself?

I have a week and three days to complete 8 acceptable demos which are similar however different.
I can not use any ideas that I've come up with in the past.
The demos must be fun and challenging
RTP Heroes are not allowed
RTP Tilesets are mandatory
I am not allowed to use any Add ons that can't be accomplished by eventing


If you approve of this "contest" between ABS's you may sign up as a judge.

The rules for judges are

You rate the games from 1 to 10 in each of the categories.
         
Playability
Visuals
Replayability
and of course the amount of fun you've had.

The victor of this contest will have this contest as a reference.
Since I'm basically competing against myself I can't show bias towards one ABS which ensures that it'll be a fair competition.

Since the game is based on an ABS's capabilities.. it leaves one wondering.

I'd sign up as a judge, but I don't want anybody to say that the contest had biased judges. I know that Blizz-ABS will probably win anyway. xD But seriously, Blizz-ABS does have a very good chance of winning. I'll be looking forward to te games and the results.

Also, are you sure that 10 days are enough for 8 games?

First game

NeoABS -

Pro's with NeoABS
Enemy Events can attack other Enemies

... that's about it.

Cons with NeoABS
Inability to refresh properly giving enemies invincibility - meaning that an enemy with 2500 health has 99999 health.. even if you don't want it to -.-. I'm really trying to work my way around this con but if I give the enemy low health they will be 1 hit and if I give them more than low health they will be invincible.. this ABS is almost unmanageable.

I almost feel like disqualifying this ABS due to the fact it is impossibly glitchy... infact I am going to disqualify this ABS.

Wow. +1 for all other ABSs by default :P

I think you should keep a scorecard on all of the ABSes as you go along, in this topic -- you know, just show everyone some pros and cons as you experience them. As you do this, you should be able to experience pretty much all the differences :P

RTH ABS Contest game

Pros -
Combo system, summon system, etc

Cons -
Animations aren't shrunken down for map use.. so I've to do it manually.

The example game itself..

It's called Malice: The taste of Freedom.
The protagonist is Neora Lee. An immortal that has no age. He constantly alters ages involuntarily (unless you hold down enter while he's changing ages).

Each age class has its pros and cons

I'm going to go buy a pizza now.. since I'm banned I don't have any reason to finish the example games.

Here is my opinion about the A.B.S.'s

Blizz, RTH, and FFXII ABS are my favorites of the ones mentioned

Realistic and Prexus ABS are slightly higher than XAS

Sounds very good with your progress. Not surprised at all that you despise XAS, haha. Look at that debate. Though apparently, it's supposed to be pretty powerful, the strength of XAS I mean.

Now...the main subject I'm going for, which I'm sure you fully understand, is more on your ban. You're avoiding it by creating a duplicate account. This is actually unacceptable. I believe the last time a case like this happened, the person offended obtained an IP ban as well. Sucks, I know. I'll unfortunately have to follow those rules.

I cannot delete accounts unfortunately, so this account will get banned as well. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this provides. If you ever read this however, if you ever can, haha...Um, please contact us if you want your progress with the contest. This is ever so minor, especially your sexual harassment, so I can cut out a deal.

There are like seven people here that post on average. I thought I liked this place because I could goof around however when I noticed that people actually take the internet seriously I kinda lost the urge to want to post here.

I understand if you got pissed from what I said, but it was unintentionally a one-way-route to anger and all. I mean, I wasn't even trying to make you get pissed off, but unfortunately, that's how things stood out. I played the wrong cards, look what muck I came into.

Some people do take the Internet seriously. I, on the other hand, don't really take the Internet seriously. =/ Blame the people that were just all sensitive and love all that e-drama bits.

The "Hahas" was not meaning that I'm believing it's all a joke to me, or a game whatever you may call it. It's just something I say (At least recently) to bring out more of a positive note. It's just syonymous with a 'lol', but I don't like using 'lol' in proper forum posting like this.

I'm currently using Mr Mo's ABS. I noticed that wasn't mentioned in this thread. It's not highly advanced but I found it the easiest to understand and perfect for my survival horror game needs.

Too bad Mr. Mo isn't working on it anymore (I believe). That ABS did have potential. Rose, if you don't mind going to *shudder* RMXP.org and trying it out, go for it. Unless this competition is over. :P

He may be done playing with himself.

I'm not done.. I actually fell in love with Blessed Be the Lady and started writing a script for it.
I realized my folly.. somewhere in between transition between projects have I lost sight of my true soul.
I've blinded my eyes, and numbed mind starving my creativity and lust for prose.

..I have lost the blossom of a rare Rose and have become nothing but a weed. Yet, I slowly begin to realize that hiding behind jrpg plotlines and gaming styles... its insulting to my .. well..  in the end I've realized what has been known. As a poet, a writer, and a muse to my own self.. I've started to decompose.. rotting.. there is no eloquence, no elegance.. no foundation to my words nor story. This.. I feel nothing but shame. 

Angry at myself I've began to rewrite my stories as they should be read.. as poetry.. as plays instead of asinine spoonfed gibberish void of any life beyond the pen. Anyone can write words.. yet, someone truly blessed can deliver their soul.

Casually, I've gotten the experience I needed out of doing it.

From what I understood NeoABS was an improvement of Mr. Mo's ABS by him and a few other scripters.

If you guys dont believe its glitchy.. try it out for yourselves. Assign something like 3000 hp to an enemy and I promise you if your chara doesn't hit for like 2500 it wont die fast. The battle system is very glitchy.

I played Blessed Be the Lady one. It's great! Really hope you finish it, the story is awesome... and I wanted to play more but then I got to the end of the demo :(
