Hopeful you don't mind Blizz but I was in my multimedia class and was inspired by Star G. thus this was created in about three week at an hour and a half a day of work. the game is coded from scratch no code stealing here It is still an early version please feel free to post any errors you find in this or the topic at my site. I have a felling that it acts differently on PC and Mac so if you see weird text alignment that would be because of the fact that it was created useing a Mac (I don't like Macs by the way but thats what we have to use in my multimedia class). Enjoy!

no it works...
try again.
Pretty nice. Didn't get to fully check it out really but played it for a second. I like it
theres only like three levels right now so try playing all the way through it will take like 6 minnents
Level 3 sucks.. no laser =(
I probably will later head is kinda hurting and im kinda tired. Me need some sleep. :D
@Rose Dam your right for some reason you can shoot on lv 3 i'll have to fix that...
I dont really like how the movement is but thats just me. Its a fun game other wise.
Good game, keep up the good work. Its great you chosen flash cause more handheld devices are starting to support it, games like yours are awesome to have in handhelds when normal pc games dont work on them.
You should have made Star G. 2. ^_^
Bug fix: Lv 3 now works as well as some ascetic fixes.
@ Blizz maybe I will! once I get a new UI drawn, and fix the weapon drop rate, and some other things...
note due to a bug I is far more effective to hold down the space bar to shoot than to just press it once. i accidentally made it so your weapon only reloads while the space bar is down
It is impossible to get inbetween the lasers on the boss fight in phase 3 :S
I know :P the best you can do in hit only one. as i said in the topic on my site this is a beta designed to show what the system I built can do and find bugs with it not with game play. how ever i'll give you a hint. if you can get a Lv3 Blast weapon by the time you get to the boss you should be able to beat it with out losings a life if you only hit one of the lasers every time you pass through and only pass through when nessassary
You know, that is fucking hard to be the first boss.. try to make it do something else instead, like send missiles or something once in a while that fly in strange patterns.

lol I'm the CREATOR and i find it hard to beat with out using the blast weapon. and as I said this really isn't supposed to be a game with well designed game play. when I convert it to to action script 3 it will be redone.
ITS NOT ALREADY ACTION SCRIPT 3 YOU NOOB! :V:
Nyah I am just kidding severely! Seriously! Awesome game lmao to be honest I have no idea how to work flash xD so dont take that as an insult lol.
anyways maybe work on the movement? Like I dont like when I press the left and let go he slows to a stop. I like immediate stops in games like this.
but... but... your in space... there shouldn't even be friction. i should of made it so you have to press lightly in the opposite direction to stop :P
That would help :^_^': like I said please take no offense! :D Its a fun game!

Just checked it out and awesome job Ryex.
now, on to the quote. Yes you are in space. That doesnt mean that you have to apply real world physics. For example, space has three dimensions. So you could technically fly above or below everything on the two-dimensional game platform. Also, since when are the boundaries in space? Fly off the screen in any direction! I could go on, but my point is that games are not supposed to fully reflect the real world. They are supposed to be entertaining. Part of that is a control scheme. Playability for your game will go way up with some friction and a projectile speed, as well as more manuverability(by which I mean faster acceleration). My final suggestion would be to add sound effects.
Great job anyways.

but there ARE sound effects or do you mean to the movement of the ship...
any way if you come back any time in the future this will be revamped into Star G 2! made with AS3! it will be WAY better I promise
I can't wait to see Star G. 2. <3
Alas... I don't think I'll be remaking this for a long time. action-script 3 is just too different! I some one who knows action scrpt three can help me I might give it another go but I've wasted enough time for now.
on second thought I've found some good tuts, so I may try again. anyone want to draw me an new hud?
