Title: [Resolved] Non-integer player speed causing event graphics to flicker [RMXP]
Post by: Reives on June 03, 2009, 05:26:11 pm
Edit: Oops, nevermind!  :^_^':

Hiya, thank you for your time. So I basically changed the player's speed to 3.5 instead of a whole number, and it works well, except that the characters'/events' graphics flicker/shake when the player moves. I'm guessing that it's because the graphics update methods were written to only seamlessly refresh under whole number speed, but I'm clueless as to how to approach it. :( The problem occurred with 3.6 speed too, so apparently it's not an even-odd thing.

Is there a way to fix this, by perhaps editing the graphics update handlers or whatnot?  Many thanks in advance!! c':

I'm guessing it's because you're character is moving half a frame more/less than he should be. It's impossible to get this to work if I'm right, since it's impossible to seamlessly move less than a frame :/

Thanks for your time WcW. c: It's sort of solved now, I changed it to 3.6 again and it no longer flashed, but I could've sworn it didn't work when I did that before! So I suppose it is an even-odd thing after all to an extent.
