Ok i made this photoshop action that converts normal default sized characters into xas ready characters.
eg:

to

will conversions work fine for babs? Oh and will this action work in photoshop 7? And how do we use it?
(photoshop noob here)
It will work for CS4 and older versions, all you need to do is:
Open your default sized sprite
load the action in your version of photoshop
click on the action and click play to execute the action.
If you guys think that this is helpful then please let me know so that i may create more stunning actions in photoshop for use in game development.
OK I got it to work and I do find it useful. It can be made as a template layout too ^_^ *lv's up* thanks cw7!
You should make more actions this is really helpful.
Why is there so much space between the frames?
Thats how the template for the battle system is.
you can always request a custom one for a new style.
It just seemed unnecessary. Sprites aren't affected by frame size, but it surely increases lag if you have huge sprites with loads of empty space.
oh, i didn't knew that.
The next one will be my favourite, the sprite generator!
just take each body parts and run the action.
I don't like the position of the new sprites ... They seem, off ...
Actually this is completely unnecessary. I know the XAS demo sprites use huge charsets for all their sprites, but it will work just as well if the walking sprites are regular sized. I know this, because that Nethera attack sprite is an edited version of what I used for XAS, but the charset is the same. At least that's how it worked in 2.5, and I'm pretty sure he hasn't changed the graphic engine THAT much. try it both ways and see if it works.
