Post by: Magus on October 07, 2009, 06:57:01 pm
Nothing else pisses me off more than windows vista. it freezes, crashes and runs very slowly. I hate it.
SOme people love it.

WHAT DO YOU GOT AGAINST ME WINDOWS VISTA. Seriousness, XP is better.

Then downgrade to XP or upgrade to Windows 7. Vista suffices for me. -w- But I guess it would be nice to have some great speed...? My computer seems to work faster than the XP though.

I have XP on my computer.

WHen I stayed a few days over a relative's hows, they had vista installed on their pc. When they wanted me to look things up for them, vista annoyed and frustrated the heck out of me D:

Well of course it works better on XP...

As mentioned earlier, downgrading to XP or upgrading to 7 is probably the best idea. I haven't tried Windows 7 so I cannot voice my opinions about it, and I have not gotten around to trying out RMXP or RMVX on my laptop (running Linux) yet either.

Windows Vista is better than XP, face it. More features, more secure, your computer just relatively sucks and always will suck. Microsoft definitely did make a huge mistake with the Vista launch, and it still sucks up waaaay too many resources, but a proper computer (say, mid-end C2D with a few gigs of RAM at DDR2 or better) can run it just fine, and it's advantages are much bigger than I believe most of you could even begin to understand.

Windows 7, on the other hand, actually has tangible usability improvements on top of that, which makes it really worth using. Plus, it doesn't suck as bad on old hardware. So yeah, get that ASAP.

I guess you're right. But I'm gonna keep using XP because Oblivion does not officially support Vista  :naughty:

Well that's funny, I always thought the game I was playing  all the time on my vista-pc was Oblivion. I must have imagined it.

Not saying it doesn't work, Bethesda just said that they aren't going to make the installers for the DLC and the Construction Set 64bit aware and Vista aware

Maybe I'm just confusing compatible with another word o_O

It works, and you don't need 64-bit compatibility AFAIK, since the kernel should support both 32-bit and 64-bit execution simultaneously (if it doesn't, Microsoft needs to go burn in hell).

There is a set of 32-bit apps that doesn't work right on 64-bit OS-es, but I think it works usually fine.

I'm running Vista x64 and I haven't found an app that doesn't work so far, except some freeware.
