title pretty much sums it up. RGSS or RGSS2?

Same difference. RGSS2 is almost the same language as RGSS. The only actual difference is that RGSS2 is used in RMVX while RGSS is used in RMXP. And they differ in some specific features (i.e. RGSS2 can't load external DLLs).
