Sonic 4:
So looks like SEGA dicided to go make Sonic 4, as 2D platformer picking up where sonic 3 left off back in 1994. Both sound awesome, but I don't agree about the 3d sonics being shitty. The Sonic Adventure ones where pretty awesome, actually. I loved Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the game cube.

Agree.  People complain when games are too different (sonic series), and when games are too similar (zelda series).  Fuck those people.

I was refering more to Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Heroes (alright but not great) and Shadow the Hedgehog (again alright but not great) Personally, I never played Sonic Adventure. Sonic Unleashed, I didn't really like at all though :P Still can't wait to see what this new turns out like.

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is one of my favorite games of all time. It's up there with titles like Majora's Mask and Super Smash Brothers. But wow, why are all the companies going back to 2D side scrolling? It looks cool, but it's kind of annoying that we're covering old ground again instead of trying new stuff. (not that there aren't any original games being made, but the series of games, like sonic, mario, and zelda, seem to rehash old ground a lot)

Why did you make one topic for two games? As far as I know, they're unrelated.

I don't really mind the lack of originality too much. Personally, I'd love to see another game that's just like Majora's Mask or Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. But I also kind of want to see something NEW from the franchises I love (though when they do that, they run the risk of going too far from what made the series great). It's a balancing act between making it too different and too similar (for too similar, just look at the bomberman series. If you've played any bomberman since the first one on gamecube, it's exactly the same game as it's forebearers.)

Once bomberman hit gamecube though, every sequal they made was a cookie cutter of the previous one. I don't see how it having a version older than the NES has anything to do with the point I made.

I'm not saying the first bomberman was ON game cube. I was refering to the first one RELEASED on the game cube (sort of like Ocorina of time was the first zelda on the n64). I know it's been out forever, I'm just saying since the first gamecube bomberman came out, they haven't made anything really original.

Sonic 4 seems all confusing to me. I liked it as Project: Needlemouse. XD
