What's up, everyone?
I'm new to this forum, but in the short time I've been visiting, I've already found a few neat scripts and a few helpful names, so I figured I'd dig my roots in a little deeper. ;)
I'm definitely not new to RMXP, but with the critical failure of my old system, Sabre_One, I lost ALL of my data. As this regularly happens when I get far into a new game (happened with my PS1 with that version of RPG Maker, my first PC with RM2K, and Sabre_One), I gave up for awhile...but now I'm back! 8)
I struggle with Ruby, I'm not great with graphics or music, but I have a lot of great ideas for games as well as a real talent for writing stories and dialogue. I was definitely meant to be a designer and writer, so the technical end of things tends to really chew at me. Even still, I'm tenacious enough to eventually work out some fairly complicated events. :^_^':
My new project is planned to be the same as my old project: It's an idea that's kind of a merge of the classic RPG style with a somewhat more realistic Zelda mapping system. In addition, monsters that have no business carrying money don't drop money. Instead, the player must capture their soul and sell it to the Hunter Guild for a bounty (the souls are then sold at markup to the local mages for god-knows-what). As for the story? Well...you'll just have to wait, won't you? :P

I thank everyone for greeting me. It's not often I've found a lively (and amusing) forum for this kind of stuff. Hopefully, someone can help me now and then with some of my scripting issues, and in return, I'll be posting stuff I'm working with/on. I'm a bit limited, thanks to my current dial-up situation, but I'll do what I can when I can. It's hard to find time to work on stuff since I work full time and go to school full time. :<_<:
So...for starters, if anyone is interested, I've redone a couple of the songs that came with the RTP. One's a battle song from XP(Battle 05, I believe...redone from sounding like it came from the original Doom to something that sounds more metal and...yanno...like instruments) and the other is a soft piano song from XP (Slow 07, I believe).
That being said...hey, what's that over there by your tower?

And pirates are NOT better than ninjas, Swift. My bumper sticker proves that. It CLEARLY states that ninjas are way cooler than pirates. It even has a ninja kicking a pirate in the face. So ha.
As for loss of sanity, I'm already experiencing some of that trying to get my script request resolved... :<_<:

As much as I respect you Jek, I'm going to have to go with Sabre on this one.
His evidence regarding ninja/pirate supremacy is incontrovertible.
