Title: How 'comfortable' is Chaos Project?
Post by: Vell on August 29, 2010, 10:58:45 pm
How many people here feel like this place is comfortable?

I feel comfortable. Although it makes me uncomfortable when some people act like vicious dicks and nothing gets done about it.

I dunno. Maybe search through the forum's posts?

For example, a staff member once edited this into one of my posts:  :stupid:

I think that the forum is pretty comfortable. There is the occasional pointless argument that unsettles me.

And sometimes there is the occasional pointless trolling from other members that gets ignored.

oh you mean what happens in SPAM on a regular basis?  well I think there is something you should know NOTHING is SPAM is serious, it is something like Las Vagues
what happens in SPAM stays in SPAM. and if you can't find the humor in even the jokes aimed at you it is advisable to not venture within.

on that note. CP is the bet RM community in existence, very comfortable

I also really love how :stupid: was edited into my post in Intelligent Debate: The Anti SPAM.

CP is pretty cool. Some members are way too serious though.

Overall, I don't think it can get any more comfortable.  :P

Why is it comfortable for you guys? I've not been feeling very comfortable here lately and I'm trying to find a reason why.

I feel comfortable here; there's the occasional quarrel, but it's usually more like a family argument than an actual confrontation. We're like one big, happy family. Actually, if you believe G_G, we really ARE one big happy family, courtesy of Blizz.

I don't know about comfortable, but I just don't feel very interested anymore, but I think it's for the same reasons.  The community that drew you and I to Chaos Project has evolved into something different, and the new community lacks some of the very important principles of the old one.  I don't mean to rain on anybody's parade, because other people like the way it is now, and there is nothing wrong with that.  It's just that the current community at this site is not one that I am particularly interested in being a part of. :faceless:

I guess I should be serious for a second. I kind of feel like CP is past me already. I don't feel in the loop and I don't feel like I want to try and get back in. To be honest, most the new members don't interest me and all of the old members don't post. CP got a lot less interesting for me when people like Ulta, FAX, Valcos, Fant and such stopped posting. The forum also seemed to get younger for some reason. All of our new members are taking over so nothing feels familiar. And no more Starrod...DEAR GOD I MISS HIM.

Totally different experience. He's way different now then he was when I first met him. Not different, but far busier.

->Personally, I find CP very comfortable. It's got a script archive where almost everything is compatible to each other, but that's just one small factor. Its community is very friendly, & though some flames slip in via the sarcasm smiley, none are taken as a flame but as a friendly joke, & everyone knows that. I've been a real noob for the past year, but the people here stayed patient. Maybe that's why I decided to stay & be a regular member. Sure, many great members have become a lot less active, but aren't you confident enough that you've made a mark in their life? You sure did on me. I learned basic scripting because of Zeriab & Blizz, spriting through Calintz, Caro & dwellercoc, eventing through WhiteRose, writing a story through Ulta. I also just recently learned what trolling means thanks to Sub. :P You guys have been very good to me, & I really thank all of you.

Yes, we are. :D And I hope I have become a real part of this family.

Anyway, if you think we're lacking something, you can always tell us straight. :haha: Also, you can always pick on me if you feel down, coz Sub said:

*those two == me & SK72 :P

Haha, my approach was never one of an RMXP user, but one of a forum dweller of the lowest depths. If you look at my first posts, it's pure trolling, flaming and nonsense with some of the worst spelling and grammar you'll ever see. I got pretty serious and helped with somethings I think, my only notable help being my How to Install RMXP on Linux thread.

CP just lost it's fun for me. I'm getting too old for this.

CP is sometimes comfortable, most of the time annoying. <---- Truth.

->@Dio: Actually, I found CP by accident. My brother's bday gift to me was RMXP, & while he was trying it out himself, he showed me this site. I actually spent no time lurking 'cause I registered immediately. :xD: Anyway, I'm really glad that he found this forum for me. :haha:

@SK72: :xD:

I have become more of an observer. Though, I still post regularly and get involved into stuff. But this is how the community has evolved. It is not better, but it also not worse. It's just different and some people don't fit in anymore or don't want to. It's the normal way of things. In fact, not only CP changed, we all have.
This is also a reason why I am trying to spark some discussions in areas that I'm currently interested in. e.g. the pickup lines thread was a real joy to me. I'm currently investing quite a bit of time perfecting my "game" so kinda putting this stuff out of my head into actual words was a refreshing experience.

I never felt like a big member of the forum but I liked it a lot better my first year of activity. And my interest, not only in RMXP but the forum also, slowly faded away. We all get older, grow up, people come and go, it is the same as life. Interests change. I know I haven't provided anything more than spam but I did have some good times here and I plan to still check around for as long as the forum stays active.

I am just 13 years old this year and I am a very gentle kind of Singaporean.I don't ever scold bad words although my schoolmates do.I feel a bit uncomfortable here as some members' language are not as friendly as I used.But however what I appreciated most is the help here.Chaos Project had given me inspiration to start Shawn's Story,as well as some parts of the storyline.In conclusion,I had enjoyed my 2 years at this forum.

Protip: After grammar important things like periods and commas you put a space.
