Title: Feedback on my website
Post by: Valdred on October 04, 2010, 04:21:47 pm
So I finally got up a website. It's my first one, so I guess it's a lot of room for improvement.

I'd recommend you to skip the test post.
Otherwise, nice for being your first.

Yea. When I open your site, at the bottom of the site it says
Spoiler: ShowHide

I say post because it looks like a blog to me.

Very nice for your first one site (a lot better than mine). Im assuming you made this on dreamweaver. I might suggest you look at making the site in joomla. Its a very nice program. No need for any coding and tons of extensions

Props for not using a WYSIMYG editor. But if your using plain notepad, I highly suggest going to Notepad++. It's color coded and you can save blocks of code to be used later on. It basically makes things a lot easier to read and look at.

About your website, it looks good and simple. Which is good cause you don't want lots of clutter on your webpage. Clutter = hard to locate stuff = unhappy viewer. The drop down menu, I would make the boxes all the same size. They are at the moment except Story. Also, I would make the boxes the full size of the drop down menu cause right now it looks kinda odd when it has 20+ pixels of white space just kinda there. Also, on the links always make sure to include the full address. You used a shortcut and put bloodofthegods.net instead of http://bloodofthegods.net so it ended up linking you to bloodofthegods.net/bloodofthegods.net giving a 403 error because it doesn't exist so I would fix that. (It's just the nav links the drop down box is fine)

Also, as stripe mentioned, I would delete the test body post as you already know it works. :P

But it does look good. Props for your first one.

Thanks for feedback. The reason why I don't make the boxes in the navbar fill it all is browser/screen compatibility. But thanks a lot. Levels up to all
