What is the best computer I can buy for graphic design?
Well, I'm not a graphic designer myself, but from experience I know that many graphic designers use Macs.. a famous international school that teaches that subject even provides its students with macbook pros at the start of their studies, lol!
This also depends on what kind of graphic design. If you are just making websites, pretty much any computer will do. If you are doing professional 2D design, you will probably want a computer with a powerful multi-core CPU. If you are doing 3D modeling, then you probably want a computer with a powerful multi-core CPU and a middle or high end graphics card.
It depends entirely on your price range. What are you willing to pay?

About $1000 to $2000 (Dollars)
I'd recommend a Mac. Like Blizz said, get the best CPU and graphics card(s) you can afford.

In that price range, I'd recommend a Macbook Pro 15" (the one I am getting, lol!) it should be able to do anything you wantto do and it's still rather small and portable... and last but not least, according to alot of people I know, nearly undestructable xD Really, the case is made out of one piece of aluminium, and display (I think) and touchpad are glass and the harddrive has a motion sensor that automatically shuts down the harddrive when you drop the thing. Those are things that always seem to go unnoticed but end up being really comfortable.
