Title: [RESOLVED] Question: 'BlizzABS 2.3 Ally AI'
Post by: Mixxth on February 16, 2011, 04:58:17 pm
Ok first my question: How do I make it so my ally's heal the party members basically a healer role ally; RMXP

I read the manual and added the skill heal to the ally I wish to do it, I added both the party member and a mob onto a map, set the allys behavior to the passive/defensive corner, then i let the mob hurt me to about 20% and the ally did nothing... so i set the ally to the corner by passive/offensive, same deal... I even setup a trigger to heal the leader when <50% still nothing... so what am I missing? everything I try the ally does nothing, unless I wish it to attack in that case the ally listens...

if you require any more info on the matter just ask, ill answer anything to resolve this dilemma...

I want BlizzABS 2.84 but my games got about 200+ hours of creation into it, and implimenting the newer BlizzABS' would require a hell of alot of changing around no?

In that case, you're in a pretty awkward position. Quick guide:

1) Duplicate your game folder.
2) In either one, it doesn't matter, install 2.4.
3) In the other, use the config app and copy/paste as much as you can into the newer config app. I'm not sure if the config app supports batch copying but meh. How much stuff is there?

um no not really, you would have to regenerate your config but for the most part you wouldn't have to change any of the eventing. I making an copy of your project and try upgrading and see how many problems you run into before condemning the idea. the added stability and additional options would be worth it IMHO

@Niche current version is 2.8x not 2.4, 2.4 is almost as old as 2.3

Careful, though! At one point the old config files will not work anymore. v2.5 had a revamped config save file system.

Alright and curious in this new version of BlizzABS; the AI will act accordingly and actually heal?

Makes sense, but If I make a copy of my project and delete Blizz1,2,3 v2.3 and replace them with Blizz1,2,3 v2.8 then manually load the config and redo everything then save my config, then run my game and as things pop up fix them, if I have trouble somewhere along the line... I got you guys :P

That's the point. With v2.5 or newer you are not able to load any config file from versions older than 2.5. But you can redo your whole Blizz-ABS configuration manually of course. It will just take some time probably, depending on the size of your game.
