<sup>So my game has been using a heavily edited copy of Moghunters title script. But I finally found a tutorial on eventing a title screen (something I could never get fully right) that
1. Wasn't just about how to skip the real title screen.
2. Made sense.
3. Didn't skip key NEED TO MAKE IT WORK details.
4. Made sense!
5. ACTUALLY WORKS AS IT SHOULD!  8-O

So I was able to make an evented version of my games title. It's nearly the same as the scripted version, aside some image effects and added sounds :3

So there's the evented title... Sorry it's a bit lagged, for some reason it refused to record with out lag. If anyone can tell me how to record sound off my system with Camtasia 6, would really be useful XD

I'd like your thoughts... I also like to know, with an evented title screen... if the boring image with fog rolling along is okay, or if I should take this further with cutting the image and making a real map or something instead.</sup>

Aside from the lag, I think it looks very nice.
I think it would also be a good idea to have the screen fade out slower, in a more eeirie way, which would fit well with your theme. Maybe not all the time, but maybe just for new games or something. I like how you did the text as well.

Looks nice. Although too much like Quintessence's as far as logo animations go. But still nice.

BTW, It's not a horror game as some may think.
Short Summery
Demons Bane is about a young man seeded with a netherworld entity (a 'demon') and his struggles to deal with his 'possession' while trying to prevent someone very close to him from traversing down a darker path.

though isn't the bg with rolling god a little to generic? I've seen some stunning mapped out titles but don't know if I should try such a path or if what I have is alright.

I'd like to point out that at first I though it said Bane Demons due the the fast that we read from left to right top to bottom.
also to make a word posesive we add a ' before the s or after the existing s if the word already has an s at the end

I've had very few read it that way, due to most read it by seeing the large D first and reading 'Demons' first due to it.
I originally had it as Demon's yet Demons is also a valid way to spell it. Even in the Wiki  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demon)

It also looked better in the title spelled as such.

Ryex is referring to the fact that you are using it as a possessive, in not as a plural.

Demon - single
Demons - plural of demon
Demon's - possessive of a single demon
Demons' - possessive of multiple demons

You are using it in the same way as the last example I imagine, if not then definetely the third example, otherwise the title would not make sense. I would agree that aesthetically it looks better without the apostrophe, but Ryex is right in saying that it is grammatically incorrect.

Actually, there is this weird thing that when you are naming something, you can drop possessives altogether.  For example: dragon's tooth becomes dragon tooth, or kings' foil becomes kings foil.  I think it is related to how verb-of-noun becomes noun-verb, like slaughter of man becomes manslaughter.

The point is, in this case, it's a good choice to leave the apostrophe out.

I was going to invalidate my point with wink's when I first wrote the post but then my point would be invalid :p.

I still hold that the took me a second or two and the video title for reference to know that the name was Demons Bane. I kept reading it the other way around and I know that it didn't make sense.  do it that way if you want but a lot  of people who see it will still read Bain Demons first before realizing that that makes no sense and read it the other way.

That... is what the title is meaning... there are 'demons' or nether beings being summoned by magi... you are also playing as someone who is 'seeded' by one. Meaning the demon is there, but not in control/may be only influencing/trying to gain control. Some magi are willingly allowing themselves to be seeded (known as Bound) to gain more power even at the risk of losing themselves...

Guess it make more sense once I sort out how to give a more depth story sample with out spoiling to much (about the only thing keeping me from making a thread) though what I typed isn't such, as it's known from the start of the game.

You're really the only one to have that big an issue about it. Most read it from left to right, see the D and cause it's the first letter from the left read it first. I've only had one other read it the other way and it just took them a moment to catch on.

Anyway, experementing a bit with making the BG a map..

Perhaps something like that.



Edit: Ugh my evented title screen is causing my message system to have a royal fit... >.<

or you could place Bane under demons and make the problem go away.

I'll admit it probably won't look as good if you place 'bane' under 'demons,' but if you keep it above, people will keep mistaking the title for Bane Demons. Some games I've seen are read the same as your current title and I guess making the 'B' smaller or the 'D' larger will look a little better but your call.

doing both might help too. make the B smaller and then make the D large enough that the top of the D is level with the top of the B then It should be read properly

Ireally haven't had to many  mistake the title for Bane Demons cause most read from left to right before they read top to bottom, and the D does come before the B. Only issue before hand was from someone who was use to reading manga so he got use to reading top-bottom then right to left.

I'll try shrinking the B, just really hate changing it sense it's been this logo for so long and not had any real issues with people misreading it :/

Were they close friends or family members that love to do nothing but compliment your work? I found in life to never trust them, as they will just say it's 100% perfect to make you happy. :P

If not, good job dodging that bullet for so long. But like I said, it looks very nice, still. Just this one thing everyone is pointing out.

I don't have any family that give a rats ass about this sense it's not 'A PAYING JOB SO IT'S A WASTE OF TIME' in their eyes. While I do have a few friends (few as in one) who has tested it, the rest were just random forum people like you guys who have test played past versions and helped improve the story with advice they gave.
