So, many people of you might have seen my concept for the game endzeit. It might seem like I dropped it... well, I didn't. I didn't work on it as much as I should have due to university, but I did work on it - I tried to get the concept to work for quite a time now, and I came to one conclusion.
While what I've been trying might be possible in RMXP with alot of mods, it is not the right engine. It starts with things like pixel-perfect collision, precise multidirectional aiming, size differences between the protagonist and the enemies, multibody enemies, particle effects, ect. It would be a hell to get to work and probably lag far too much to be enjoyable.
So, recently I discovered the Unreal Devolopment Kit. Looks nice, is free. What else would there be to ask for? So my question is:
Do any of you have experiences with said Engine, or the Scripting Language that comes with it? If not, anyone willing / motivated enough to work on this together with me?
I'll join you in learning to use it, if it's able to do what you're saying, I think it's definitely worth a try.

That's grand, wanted to ask you anyways, for scripts (as in written out scenes) mainly, but the more things you can help with the better. Trying to get Eoghan in later, too. :)
So will Endzeit be 3d? I'm going to try and make my game in 3d, since if I'm going to learn a completely new set of rules, I may as well save time as I've always planned to have it in 3d eventually (Midge if you're reading this, be happy, be very happy and simultaneously afraid because I'm going to be involving you a lot)

Yep. It just works better in 3d.
You should totally wait for ARC. :V:

Funny that you say it, because that was my first idea. xD But really, in 2d it's just difficult to get the athmosphere across, and the size difference between you and, for example, the archetype... I mean, Imagine "Shadow of the Colossus" in 2d.. that wouldn't work xD
I couldn't agree more. OoT in 2D wouldn't be the same thing.
OoT?
Old, oily tits. Blizzard enjoys granny porn in 3d.
Ocarina of Time. ._.;
@Sub: :rofl:
@Blizz: Forgive me master for I have sinned against awesomeness by not recognising the acronym. I humbly beg persimmons to kill myself.

Seems to be a good tutoria, whatever that is.
I think it's a fail at keyboard usage lolz.. Anyways, I started to learn it a little while ago, and lost interest. Lemme re-download it, and, I'll learn some more, maybe help out. I am starting to stretch myself pretty thin though, working on newsletters, projects, my own game, etc.
This awesome guy on youtube known as "thenewboston" makes tons of tutorial videos for programming and stuff. He has started up UDK tutorials and has 28 videos out already.
