This game isn't even close to being finished. Someday I hope to complete it with the right help. I'm still open to ideas and what not.
Hey all! My name's Swick and I'm skilled in a variety of areas such as music, mapping, graphics, eventing, story writing, etc. Only thing I don't like doing is pixel art, spriting, tilesets, etc.

I wish to start a new game, preferably in a dark medieval/fantasy style, maybe even some steampunk, but I'm open to anything really. I would also prefer it to have all custom content, as in music, sprites, tiles, etc. So I'm looking for a spriter/tileset artist who can help with mapping, story writing, and other stuff if they wish. I would like keep this team to maybe like 2-3 people. Maybe 4 if it's really necessary.

I'm looking for talented, commited team members. If you wish to join the team, I would like to see examples of your past works. If you wish to see the same of me, just ask! PM me, or reply to the thread if you are interested.

Event Systems / Customizing Blizz-ABS? (Ready Stance)

Okay, so basically what I would LIKE to achieve in Blizz-ABS is an effect you see in games like Silent Hill, or Resident Evil, etc.

What would happen is you wouldn't be able to shoot or attack with a weapon UNLESS you're holding a certain button on your keyboard, or mouse button, which would put you in sort of a "battle pose", where you hold up your weapon or gun, ready to attack. Once you're in this battle pose, you can then push ANOTHER button to attack.

Now I'm sure this is very possible to do with Blizz-ABS, I'm not sure where to start. Eventing maybe? Unless someone can give me an addon with a similar effect or something...anybody have any ideas? :)

edit: (by the way i think this is probably in the wrong section, sorry about that. i wasnt paying attention when i made this thread lmfao)
I'd actually be intrigued to help out with this project if you weren't so inexperienced with mapping and incorporating your own custom made resources. When I work on games I generally have to do everything myself unless someone wants to help out.  And even with me being an experienced user of the program, nobody really steps up to help. So maybe you should brush up on your skills a little bit, and maybe this can be your first project? :)

I was just wondering if anybody knows of ANY way to "fatigue" the player for a while after he/she's been dashing for a period of time? It just feels a bit unrealistic when my character is constantly able to run.

I still have everything in it's place with this version and I haven't been doing anything with the 3D version, and was thinking of going back to this simply because I can't find enough resources OR people to work on a 3D game, and the RPG Maker XP version is a little more realistic to work on as one person. I'll let you know what happens. :P

Would anyone be willing to collaborate with me on a Silent Hill fangame? I have a bit of content and have a good start to the game if anyone is interested. I have characters and a full plot laid out, some maps, voice actors, etc.

Silent Hill: Remembrance tells the story of Samuel "Sam" Ashton, a seasoned police officer who had been working on the White Claudia case for quite some time. He was once a happily married family man, but his world was soon ripped apart from the guilt he felt at the death of a young orphan girl from Wish House he was responsible for accidentally shooting. Unable to forget and forgive himself, he unknowingly allowed this guilt to eat him alive and forced him to ignore his wife and child. Eventually his family could no longer deal and left him. Now all he has is his guilt, but can he face it and get out alive?

The game begins in Central Silent Hill, as Sam awakens in a graveyard at the Lutheran Church. He does not remember anything prior to blacking out at the graveyard. Sam wakes up with a severe case of amnesia. He doesn't know where he is, and he doesn't remember his name. He has minor flashbacks, and a voice of a young girl speaking to him in his head. As Sam travels through Silent Hill, he finds clues that slowly reveal everything about his past.

I realize this game may only appeal to Silent Hill fans, but ofcourse even those new to Silent Hill may like it, especially if you're a fan of horror games. The game is still very early in development, but several demos will be released when I feel the time is right. I'm hoping to get suggestions and ideas from fans as to other characters we can add in, and especially monster ideas.

Emily Whitehouse: Not much is known about Emily, at least to Sam, so most of the projections of her in Silent Hill are simply created aspects of who he thought Emily could be or be like, not how she actually was. Sam has a daughter himself, some of his daughters personality traits is clearly evident in the manifestation of Emily.

Olivia "Liv" Ashton: Sam's ex-wife, who suffered much through Sam's inner struggles. However, Sam hasn't seen Liv in a long time, and still loves her very much, without knowing it. Throughout his journey in Silent Hill, Sam conjures projections of Liv, and she can be seen and heard from time to time. He doesn't know who she is, but he can't help but feel something for her.

Note: More characters will be added.

-Original Tileset using textures ripped from actual Silent Hill games
-Voice acting (For important cutscenes)
-Original soundtrack
-Radio static (to indicate enemies are nearby.)
-Dynamic sounds

As you can see, it currently plays like a typical computer game.

Is there a way I can take out some of the menu selections? I need to take out Magic, Status, Save, and Load. My game uses save points and you can't load unless you die.

Is there a way to make a script that would call a "town map" if you will, that would show the players coordinates (as an arrow or something) on the map? Example: Ocarina of time dungeon maps, Silent Hill maps, World of Warcraft, etc.
LOL, I see.
I seem to be getting an error whenever I click "Info" on an item in the item menu:

Script 'Item Window' line 133: NameError occurred.

uninitialized constant Item_window::RMXOS

I'm just going to assume it's because I don't have RMXOS, is there a way to work around this?

Server and everything starts up fine, game says the server is online, but is there any specific reason as to why every time I try to register, and click "Submit", something pops up saying "You have been disconnected"? The first time around I thought that it was supposed to happen after creating new user. But then I went to log in with the same user name and password and I got the same error.This is what comes up in the error log:

Okay. The request is simple, and I couldn't find another thread similar to what I want to do. I'm using Blizz-ABS with the Quick Weapon Switch addon. But in my game, I don't want the player to have to go through many menus to do what they want, such as equipping weapons. Hence the reason why I'm using the quick weapon switch addon.

But I was wondering if anybody could help me make a common event (I'm assuming that's what would be needed), to show what weapon the player currently has equipped, using pictures? Also, if possible to show how much ammo there is beside the gun? I am not that great with variables and what not which is why I need some help.

Thanks in advance if anybody can help out :)
Sorry for all the questions but it's a bit hard for me to grasp, even after reading the whole PDF guide xD

So when I use the normal "Play BGS" command in an event, it doesn't work the way its supposed to. So what I did was I used a point source to change the BGS (Wind BGS). It works, but when I want to change the wind BGS on the same map (like when it starts raining), I try to use another point source (for rain), to override the wind BGS but the wind BGS I was using before remains, and the rain BGS doesn't come at all. And since it isn't really a dynamic source I can't mute the Wind BGS to replace it with the Rain BGS. How do I go about changing BGS's? Sorry if it's a dumb question haha.
