Gonna use this post to drop in any major dialogue rewrites.  A lot of the dialogue is, admitted by Blizz "really, really old" and may need some cleaning.
Exact wording need not be used, but can be drawn from.
Opening Scene, Start of Game to Jason's introduction: ShowHide

In the beginning, all was Chaos
Chaos gave way to Order
Thus did Chaos become Life
After Life has faded, and Order has fallen
Chaos shall reign eternal
<Scene:  Tower of Memories, Fire of Life>
An old legend speaks of a lone flame hidden away in a place known as the Tower of Memories.  The Fire of Life, the force which binds the fabric of eternity.  In antiquity, it is said that should the hue of the flame become any color other than blue, then this "Solar Cry" would be the herald of absolute destruction.
<Red Solar Cry>
Ages ago, it is said that a Solar Cry had dyed the flame red.  This change had gone unnoticed until the very twilight of the calamity, when two mysterious warriors stepped forth from parts unknown.  The actions of the two were able to reverse the Solar Cry, but there were those who suspected that they themselves may have been responsible for the very event to begin with.
<Scene:  Dark Cave>
However, others suspected something far more sinister afoot.  The people spoke of a dark force, an unspeakable entity whose very malice and contempt for the universe itself willed the destruction of everything.  Even with the Solar Cry reversed and the Fire of Life restored to its natural state, many feared that this evil force must still exist.
An eternal force, an opposition to the very Fire from the shadows it would cast.  The people denied that such a thing could exist, but did they truly not believe...or was it easier to ignore this threat?
<Scene:  Lab, alternatively, this scene could be on a black background with the lab unseen>
Or could it be that those spinning these tales were merely looking away from an even darker truth?  What if the Solar Cry signaled something far worse than mere destruction?  What horrifying fate could be worse than oblivion itself?
<Scene:  Tower of Memories, Fire of Life>
Whatever the truth of these events, they bear little significance to the present.  Now, we find ourselves fortunate to see such a rare site with our own eyes...another Solar Cry is about to occur.
<Green Solar Cry>
While visually it is nothing spectacular, what is to follow is sure to be of far greater consequence.  Unlike the past, the Solar Cry has given way to a green flame.  And now we find ourselves asking but one question...
<Scene:  Fade Black>
The Fire of Life, that which binds the very fabric of the universe...what could have triggered something so ominous as the Solar Cry?
<Scene:  Mysterious Lab>
What power could possibly have such influence?  Is such a thing natural, or is the hand of another at play?  To find our answers, let us journey now to the little blue world of Terra, where our story shall begin.
Such a peaceful place...
<Scene:  Fade Black>
...that shall soon learn first hand what is worse than oblivion.
<Scene:  Jason class>
Here we find Jason, a rather uninteresting fellow to say the least.  A simple college student, caught in the sway of the mundane as he drifts slowly from one trifling academic endeavor to the next.  Like those around him he is unaware of what fate has in store for Terra...nor is he aware that he will escape it."

48 hours, I'll take Duke Nu...just kidding, I wouldn't do that to Praelium (unless they miss out a second time).

I'll go for Mark of the Ninja, even though I'm a fan of Duke.

Sent and updated. Also buying Two Weekly sales and another Humble Bundle 9 right now. Expect more keys within the next 3 hours.

How do these bundles work? It says pay what you want and stuff, but I have no idea how it actually works. Could you clear it up a bit?

Put simply, for the basic games you name your price and buy it through paypal.  There is a minimum $1 required to get Steam keys, and then there's the "Average" price, which if you meet or surpass it you get bonus games.

Can a brotha get Trine 2?
Games have come a long way in the past 24 years, yet many of us look back at the "glory days" of the gameboy and are still amazed at how such a simple (by today's standards) device was capable of such amazing feats of gaming.  Even with great strides in graphical power, game design as a whole is really just a question is "what is fun?".

Many people have fallen to the big market mentality of "graphics make the game", when in truth, it's the gameplay.  As a community, let us recognize this.

The event is pretty much slated to run from July 31st (the 24th anniversary of the Gameboy in North America) until September 28th (the 23rd anniversary of the Gameboy in Europe), and will expand as we see fit.

Many will ask though, what do we do for this event?

Well, I've had a couple ideas:

First and foremost, we're a community of game designers of varying expertise, so why not a little game design fun?

The challenge is this, create a game that falls under the following criteria:

-Limited to the Gameboy Palette:
-Limited to a "Relative resolution" equal to that of the gameboy.  This means that while the original gameboy's resolution was 160x144, we're gonna stretch that a bit so that people wont be stuck with playing games on a tiny little square of their monitor.  An example would be a screen resolution of 320x288 with 2x2px "pixels".
-Bonus points for using Gameboy chiptunes.

Gather up as teams or work solo, and there's no limitation to your engine of choice so really just have fun with this (if I throw my hat in solo, expect a nice little XP Ace project).

But we're also a community of Artists as well...

Sprite/Pixel Art:

No limits on the resolution or anything, just stick to the original Gameboy's palette.  If anyone wants to make an argument that the palette is too restrictive...go play Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening and say that again!

Whether it's a new arrangement of a classic Gameboy tune or your own little chiptune mix, go ahead and post it for all the fandom to see!

Got that little gem of a game that is near and dear to your heart that fits the tone of the challenge?  Go ahead and let your heart out about it and maybe turn some people on to something new!

I wanted to originally post all of this as "contests", but I lack the prizes or judges needed for it.  If anyone wants to help turn these challenges into contests however, please feel free to post it here OR in the Skype Group and we can get this party running full blast!

More to come, and for the love of god if anyone can help me rewrite this post I'd be eternally grateful!
