School Rumble (スクールランブル Sukūru Ranburu?) is a Japanese Shōnen manga series written and illustrated by Jin Kobayashi. First serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine from October 22, 2002 to July 23, 2008, all 345 chapters were later collected in 22 tankōbon volumes by Kodansha. Shōnen Magazine Special published a sequel, School Rumble Z, monthly from August 20, 2008 to May 20, 2009. A romance comedy centering on relationships between Japanese high school students, School Rumble focuses on a love triangle involving the series' two protagonists, Kenji Harima and Tenma Tsukamoto, and one of their classmates, Oji Karasuma. The series often discards realism in favor of comedic effect.

I for one absolutely love this series. Has anyone else ever heard of it? I'm about half way through season 1 right now. I absolutely love all of the dramatic irony that takes place in this series. <3

EDIT: Yeah I remember school rumble, I started watching it, but forgot about it the day after. Years ago.

Oh god.  This show has plagued my dorm's common tv for the past year.  People watched it ironically to prove why animes are terrible, and boy were they effective.  Possibly the worst series I have ever seen.  We've pretty much banned it now.

I can see how people who don't like anime wouldn't like this. It's an affectionate parody of anime, and if you don't watch a lot of anime...well the jokes just won't resonate.

I for one LOVE school rumble to death. It was the second DVD box set I bought. And I bought it when it was still pretty expensive and I only made about $20 a week. (It was three or four weeks pay). I still watch it regularly after having seen it a couple years ago. Both the english dub and the original japanese are epic. All my friends like it, except for one. He just complains at the lack of an overall plot (he dislikes ouran high for the same reason, but likes welcome to the NHK for some reason. Welcome to the NHK has even LESS plot than school rumble)

EDIT: I just remembered, but I LOVE Sentimental Generation.
