I totally agree. Games don't need excessive violence to be fun to play.

Well I think was winkio means is that games don't deal with exceptionally mature issues in a thoughtful, realistic or mature way. Most video games really don't address hard issues in a complicated way, and before anyone says, "But what about that one time in insert_game_here, where you had to make insert_difficult conundrum_here where you have to make a moral choice and deal with it," chances are the game didn't punish you , it just changed the gameplay. Sure, it's a difficult decision, but goddamn, you gotta complete the game anyways. Mass Effect isn't going to prevent you from completing the game just because you made a certain move and to be honest, I've never played a game that affected me deeply and was actually entertaining to boot. Like the Shawshank Redemption.

whatever, /rant.

I think that games are fun BECAUSE they don't deal with such matters. We already have enough problems in our own lives. Some people play games to shoot other people, others, like me, play them to escape from reality. Diving into a land far above the clouds, slaying mythical creatures with a sacred sword and preventing a villain from grabbing a magical triangle, wow, that just makes me feel all warm inside. But I think all motives have in common that you don't have any serious concerns.

Anyways, back on topic, I've just completed the first temple and it's e-pic! The tricks I learned from walkthroughs in the past are haunting me now, though; I don't want to benefit from those walkthroughs I used in the past.
Zelda trick spoiler! Example: ShowHide

Catching a fairy in a bottle.

But perhaps that's just my OCD talking. Yeah, it definitely is.

SPOILER! Up until the first temple: ShowHide

I'm not entirely satisfied yet, though. Nintendo promised that there wouldn't be a clear border between the overworld and the temples, but so far that hasn't really been noticeable.

I think they said that the overworld would feel kind of like a dungeon: not entirely open and having a lot of  puzzles. I think Faron woods fits that category.

After just beating this game, I can say it is the best single player game I have played to date.  It blows everything else out of the water.  I don't care how much people like Skyrim, Skyward Sword is orders of magnitude better.  It is worth it to buy a wii and a motion plus controller just for this game alone.

Blizzard

:O Now I am seriously considering it. Bad thing is that I don't even have a TV to play it on. ._.

Just download a emulator, Blizz.
I'm sure that you'll get over the fact that you only played it on a pc

I'm playing it too as of now (cracked, on a wii)
And I have to say that this is probably the loz with the best storyline
Sometimes the controlls mess with me a bit, even with my brand new motion controllers, but hey, can't do everything perfect can you? :D

I have an emulator, but it runs Wii games only at about half the FPS (I play it on my laptop, 2 cores @ 2.3 GHz). And I have no Wiimote which is obviously part of the game fun as you use it for the sword. :/ I played both Windwaker and Twilight Princess on an emulator (GC versions) and the FPS was just marginally bearable. I am pretty sure it damped down significantly the fun that I was having while playing them. :/

Okay, buy a Wii then ^^
At least it's easily crackable. :p

Aqua

I want to play it, but I don't wanna pay $40 for the Wii Motion Plus controller on top of the $50 for the game.  >.<

Boba Fett Link

I think you can still buy the Motion plus attachment for normal Wii remotes for $10.

I got the special edition golden wii remote anyway so I didn't have to worry.

Aqua

I haven't been able to find the attachment >.<

Seriously?
I see them in every single multimedia store here in Belgium

Those bastards (:V:) didn't tell me you had to pre-order the special edition instead of the regular game. Argh!

Anyway, I haven't played it in a while, but I'll probably continue soon :).

The adapter isn't at any of the gamestops, but is at best buys.

The game was on sale for $40 at best buy yesterday, and I had a $40 gift card...
Sooo I didn't feel bad for only paying tax for the game :P

I'm going to papercraft myself a skyward sword.
I'll update you guys when I'm finished   :)
