Interesting how it looks like a standard XBOX controller.  It makes sense since they designed the processor configuration around the XBOX as well.

It does also use the wii motionplus remotes w/ nunchucks.

I think that it looks like the wii classic controller pro, but slightly rearranged. Although it does look like an Xbox controller.

If you take away the "appendages", you get a lookalike of a SNES controller so I'd say the XBox similarity is more coincidence than on purpose.

I agree with Blizzard it reminds me more of a SNES controller than anything else.
it actually looks like an old Turbo SNES controller i use to have,where the right thumb-stick is, was where the turbo option were for the buttons.

Yeah, it looks a lot like a SNES turbo controller. I never had one, but I've once seen one.
