L3X deactivates his Ether Blades before everything goes wrong. He can escape the grasp of the creature and then backs off from the creature. In fact it's quite a distance he backs off.

Quote from: L3XFine.

Suddenly L3X does something. His entire energy pattern vanishes. It seems as if he shut down in mid air, yet he keeps floating as if he's still active. Is he active? Oh yes, he is. Suddenly L3X powers up all of his systems. The energy level keeps raising and raising! 100%, 150%, 200%! L3X activates SP-Mode again and his energy level starts growing even faster. 400%, 900%, 1600%! And it keeps growing rapidly. In just a few seconds L3X has powered himself up over 20 times of his normal power level. Obviously 5 times like SP-Mode can reach isn't enough here. The usual "aura" when he's in SP-Mode around has become wild and untamable.

Quote from: L3XTHIS IS ONE FINAL BLOW!

L3X bursts with energy. Obviously this is some sort of critical limit that L3X can reach for now. L3X repeats the attack from the last time, but this time without the Ether Blades. He bursts forward and the energy dissipation around him is so high and bright in color that it looks almost like he's a meteorite ready to smash into the creature.

Even the creature didn't seem to expect this. L3X bursts with full speed and full power into the creature. In fact the energy surrounding L3X is so intense that it's actually travelling in front of L3X. It covers the creature before L3X physically reaches the creature.

The thing vanished as the attack hit - almost as if it was vaporized. L3X knew better though. after the attack was over, he looked at the ground. the creature was on the floor, holding onto itself, apparently injured. L3X uses his sensors to check just how much he harmed it.

however... he can't. his sensors aren't working. the thing stares up at L3X, and it's eyes alone say 'didn't expect this?' as more systems suddenly begin shutting down. He used too much energy - optical sensors down, mechanical ligaments locking up. Reacting fast, L3X was able to land and maintain little control over himself.

Quote from: Mechanical creatureyou overdid it L3X

It stood up... barely.

Quote from: mechanaI suppose you could call me Mechana. Don't have any actual name.

wait. was it speaking?

Quote from: MechanaYou'll see more of me. in the meantime, you'll have a nice time moving from here after overcharging yourself as you just did.

Blizzard

While still being able to hover, L3X descends with average speed.

Quote from: L3XI am aware of the fact that I overdid it. I simply thought that this is the perfect opportunity to see how far I can go without destroying myself. Good to know that I can deliver such an attack if necessary. I'll be looking forward to our next meeting, Mechana.

As L3X is almost at the ground, the rest of his systems shut down except his basic movement. From descending he goes over into falling and crashes into the ground. But since he wasn't so high above the ground when that happened, he didn't accelerate enough for the crash to cause serious damage. L3X fell right in front of Mechana.

Quote from: L3XHeh...

Lying there on the ground, he rolls over so he faces toward the sky.

Quote from: L3XBut you forget one thing... I won't have problems... getting away from here... I have solar power cells...

L3X puts himself into deep sleeping mode where he's not keeping track of his surroundings to maximally save energy. It might take a couple days, but due to his solar power cells, L3X will be able to leave this place after a couple of days of energy collecting. Even if one day would be actually enough since his Air Drifter is close by, he decides to take a few days off.

and when he wakes up, the area he was in, which previously had atleast some trees, was now a desolate wasteland. what could have happened within those few days?

he tried to contact Kyle, but found that he couldn't. Something big had happened while he was out of commission. could this be the work of the BioE?

or... was there some other kind of motive to Mechana's fight with L3X?

Blizzard

L3X tries to find his Air Drifter. He is lucky and it seemed to be undamaged. Some heavy rocks were moved in the last few days and a couple of the covered the Air Drifter from a few sides, almost acting like a shield. Sure, it has scratches and some of the vehicle body is deformed at some places, but it's nothing serious enough to prevent it from activating and flying. Just now L3X seems to become aware what has actually happened.

Quote from: L3XWhat... happened here?

L3X moves a few of the rocks covering the Air Drifter.

Quote from: L3XWhat am I supposed to do now...?

He moves the last few rocks and pulls the Air Drifter out of the little space between the bigger rocks. He gets in and tries to start it. Nothing happens.

Quote from: L3 (thinks)XHm... I can probably route some of my energy into it. But even if I can start it, what should I do?

after thinking, L3X decides perhaps a good strategy would be to check up on Kyle's last location. he said he was doing something, somewhere...

Blizzard

And so L3X boots up the Air Drifter and is on his way to Asia where he last met Kyle. When he arrives after a couple of hours with supersonic speed, he finds something he didn't quite expect...

along the way, he noticed pretty sporadic destruction. some entire fields would be gone, except for five trees, or five trees would be gone and the rest of a field left intact. and when he arrived at the Scord Scorchers' base, L3X saw Mechana again. except that when L3X scanned him this time, he realized that the creature would hardly be harmed by the attack that fried L3X's systems. L3X had a sound buzzing in his mechanical ears again, like when the Bio-Dragon was showing up.

Quote from: Mechanayou missed quite a lot, L3X.

the mechanical thing turned around to stare straight at L3X.

Quote from: MechanaIt was fun, but now that you're functioning again.

and without another word Mechana's vision faded from L3X's optical sensors. the mechanical creature had left the area.

there was rubble. Would L3X search through it, or will he do something else?

Blizzard

L3X decides to search through the rubble.

Quote from: L3X (thinks)Mechana is quite an energy wasting entity. I can feel its energy pattern all over the place. Maybe I can find something useful here. Or maybe somebody useful...

After a while L3X comes across a few weapons. Almost all of them are destroyed except for one. It was as if a heavy energy, probably a beam, had hit the weapons and destroyed them and as if that one sole weapon was just quite close, but didn't get hit. Most of the weapons looked like they were molten on torn apart. L3X seems to feel some sort of excitement when reaching out to grab the intact weapon. The moment he touches the weapon, he realizes something. This weapon has been touched by Mechana's energy beam just enough that it did something to it. The weapon was not alive or something, but it felt powerful and self-sustaining. Just about now L3 recognizes the weapon. It's a combined module for his series that featured a better Ether Blade and a different beam cannon that was supposed to be way more resistent to heat. L3X first decides to switch this weapon for his. But then he changes his mind as he remembers that he can carry a weapon on each hand. He removes the old weapona and puts it into his left arm while he implements this new weapon into his right arm where the old weapon was.

Quote from: L3X (thinks)It feels odd...

The weapon seems to transfer the energy pattern into his other weapon as well.

Quote from: L3X (thinks)Hm... I'm kind of afraid how much power I can build up now. This would probably destroy me for good...

L3X decides to keep searching. Maybe he can find spare parts to repair the damage that he has caused to himself a few days ago in the fight with Mechana. And maybe he can find some better parts that provide more protection.

Quote from: L3X (thinks)How is it possible that Mechana grew so much stronger in the last few days? Maybe it didn't grow stronger. Maybe it held back on our last battle as well. And what did it mean with "it was fun, but now that you're here"...? It is as if was just trying to kill some time among other stuff until I get back... At least I'm fully powered and relatively undamaged. I need to find a way to defeat Mechana in case I have no other choice to survive. But it's too strong for me. I need to find a weakpoint... I did notice that it seems to be quite vulnerable by its own energy pattern. I just need to utilize it properly. The superattack a few days was mainly fueled by my own power rather than that little bit of power I have taken from Mechana when shifting through it. I will have to utilize its own power against it. Or I will have to find a way to amplify the power that I have taken from it. In that case this new weapon will also be useful. Hm... I could also try to apply its power to myself... I would have to turn my energy pattern into the same pattern as Mechana's. But... I am afraid that this power is somehow corrupting Mechana. It wasn't nearly as violent when we first met. And it wasn't nearly as powerful... In any case I need to be careful and I have to think of something...

While L3X keeps on searching, he seems to be hoping to find a survivor.

A loud roar interrupted L3X from his thoughts. He turned around and just barely jumped back to avoid a fire blast from the BioD. BioE was riding on the back of the dragon.

Quote from: BioEhello there Lexi. You're surrounded. You've grown quite powerful if the world's state has anythign to say about it. But here's a question. Why?!

not that BioE was one to make empty threats, but L3X's sensors couldn't pick up any other beings than BioE and BioD... and another figure on top of BioD...

Blizzard

L3X doesn't know the answer. But he still says the first thing that comes to his mind.

Quote from: L3X... to survive. That is what all living beings are trying, I'd guess. It doesn't actually matter or does it? At least not to you.

L3X still can't pick up anything.

Quote from: L3X (thinks)Weird. The last time I thought with the dragon I felt uneasy. This time it doesn't scare me even a little bit. And neither does BioE. Not even that new guy.

Quote from: BioEthis is BioF. F means Fel, and BioF here is sort of an all-purpose model. Based loosely on demons of your humans' folklore, BioF here has quite a repertoire of actions. Now explain to me why you destroyed half the Earth's ecosystems!

Prepare for trouble, BioE is mad. L3X picked up a signal being emitted from BioE. it was the signal he used to control the Dragon.

BioF spoke. it had a sort of underlying tone to it's voice. at first thought calm, but when you really listened, rage permeated every word it pronounced. What kind of creature was BioF?

Quote from: BioFSo you're L3X. You were a lot more powerful on our last encounter. I was created as a backup. A sort of fail-safe to the Biological Weapons Plan. I was designed with all the knowledge of the other Bios' abilities, and the abilty to imitate nearly anything.

BioF floated, literally floated, down from BioD's back. It was utilising an ability similar to L3X's SP mode. It then created an ether blade out of the palm of it's hand.

Quote from: BioFI'm one tough cookie.

It took a battle stance different L3X's own.

Blizzard

If L3X could smile, he would. So he eases his stance maximally and is completely unguarded.

Quote from: L3XHmhmhm... So you're wondering why I destroyed it all... And I thought you were smarter than that, BioE.

L3X doesn't seem to be planning to try to convince BioE that it wasn't him. He's rather trying to make BioE doubt it.

Quote from: L3X (thinks)There's no use in telling him anything. He wouldn't believe me. He has no reason to believe anything I say. "I" destroyed half of the world's eco system after all.

Quote from: L3XWhat are you going to do?

L3X activates SP-Mode so his energy patterns can be clearly picked up from everybody. Even normal humans should be able to feel this energy pattern, it's that obvious.

Quote from: L3XI asked you something.

L3X still stands easily. L3X's SP-Mode was obviously not intended to be used in battle this time. At least not for now.

BioF made a scoffing sound, and waited.

Quote from: BioEI watched you L3X. you showed up here, and then you went insane and started destroying everything. We had to go into hiding, and still a few of us were picked off. What are we going to do? simple. BioK over there is going to hold you still while BioF annihalates you.

L3X didn't notice anyone else, until he felt some kind of Telekinetic hold fall over him.

BioF then moved at an astonishing speed, and rammed a full-forced kick straight to L3X's stomach-area, sending him sprawling over to the ground and rolling for a while.

what will L3X do?

Blizzard

While rolling like that L3X takes him time to think things through.

Quote from: L3X (thinks)Telekinesis? I wish he'd try mind control. I could act as if I'm under their control until I screw them over like no other. My mind can't be controlled from the outside after all.

L3X deactivates SP-Mode. And he keeps rolling.

Quote from: L3X (thinks)Hm... There is probably no way to talk some sense into BioE...

L3X smacks his hand into the ground, catapults himself into a normal standing position, activates SP-Mode for a part of a second and moves with such speed that for BioE it seemed as if L3X suddenly appeared in front of him on BioD's head even though he did quite a number of moves to travel the distance he's been kicked away. L3X has gained quite a bit of speed since the last time he fought BioE. BioE on one hand is surprised by L3X appearing in front of him. On the other hand he's not. It's probably because Mechana was able to do something similar even if with much higher speed.

Quote from: L3XWhy would YOU care what I did to the eco system?!

Did BioE even notice L3X actually activating SP-Mode for that short moment? Yes, he did.

BioE just slapped L3X across the face, doing no damage. Damage wasn't the point of that.

Quote from: BioEBecause I was born on this planet. And besides. It wasn't you anyway. K! you finish that analysis yet?

BioK revealed himself. this biological creature looked like an average human.

Quote from: BioKyes, E. L3X was... not functioning.

L3X turned around and noticed something. BioK had been standing right next to where L3X was before being knocked away. and the Telekinetic hold had broken after he had gotten thrown.

Quote from: BioEnot functioning?

Quote from: BioKfor the past few days, yes. He overdid it in a fight with a mechanical organism known to him as Mechana. He's been recharging his solar power cells for the past few days.

BioE nodded.

Quote from: BioFso I won't get to fight him, then?

Bio shook his head no.

Quote from: BioEbut we didn't waste activating you. we'll need you.

BioF nodded and leapt onto BioD's back.

what will L3X say?

Blizzard

Quote from: L3XTook you damn long enough to figure out that it wasn't me. It needs no genius to figure out that my energy patterns haven't changed since the last time you saw me and that Mechana's patterns were different. And neither does it need some detailed whatever analysis.
