I'm going to have to drop out too. I'll have it done in the next week or two though. Just can't finish it this week because of Christmas holidays.

I mean WTF?! Why dropping out?! You DON'T HAVE TO FINISH THE GAME. You can just submit what you have at the end. Seriously, I don't understand it. Why do people give up in advance? Why? This whole contest was probably a stupid idea and a mistake which I will never ever do again.

That's what's keeping me going. I have about 10 minutes of gameplay done. Since I have (self-declared) holidays till Jan 1 2009, I might just make it.

Seriously, I feel bad too. Cmon people, don't give up, do whatever you can within the time alloted to us!
Do you like ambient/electronic music? Then you should promote a talented artist! Help out here. (I'm serious. Just listen to his work at least!)

Okay I'm in then. Sorry, I just found out my dad was going to be working untill Thursday and I'm not going out of town untill Friday so I might be able to finish it. If not I'll just turn it in without it being done. But I just forgot that you could turn it in without it being finished, which is why I dropped out..

Alright then! :D Give it your best shot and there will be nothing that you should be ashamed of. You TRIED and that's what counts. :) And you can always finish the game after the contest is over. ;)

I did fog like that in The Insanity, using the same tileset for my underground battle arena.

Lol. I'm probably not the first and not the last to have that idea. CP had fog in the lab at the beginning since I started working on the game 3 years ago. xD

It's official, there's gonna be no way I'll come remotely close to that awesomeness Namkcor achieved. The judges probably will have a headache playing the first 5 mins of my game, after playing Namkcor's. But hey, you indirectly wisened me to the lameness of my game. I'm gonna go and try to improve it now.

EDIT: Alright, somebody requested an extension of 7 days on the deadline. First I was against it, but it might be a good idea after all. I think that it would be more fair if it was only 3 days, though, because of the people who organized their time better. In any case I have sent out e-mail asking you to vote whether you are for the extension or against it. The poll is over in 48 hours. If more than 50% of all participants vote with Yes, the deadline will be extended by 72 hours. And I just realized that my mailing list isn't up to date...

I still say 3 days is best. An extra three days isn't too much more time to work with, but it could be enough to make a big difference to some people. A lot of people could use more time to finish up, and seeing how NAMKCOR and I (Nam moreso thanks to computer issues on my end) have been working our tails off to get this done by the deadline, 7 extra days is just pushing it.

Yeah, this is kinda disappointing.  Makes me want to take part as a contestant in the next one of these that happens.  the only thing is that I've never tried making a small complete game.  I might have to figure that one out.

Judging in six days now?

I don't even think any other team is participating anymore.

I suppose just let the 3 day extension go through,
and Z and I will have a nice somewhat polished game.

I haven't been able to talk to Zylos for 2 or 3 days now, which brought our production to a grinding halt :/
It probably won't be finished in time for tomorrow, since I still haven't seen him today, and don't think he'll be getting online.

all in all, competition fell apart :/

I was hoping to grab that scripting prize too
