What kind of drawing/graphics tablet should I buy?

Well, I learned a couple of months ago that all these online artists and pictures and whatever on the internet is made by artists using graphic/drawing tablets. Lately, I've really been wanting to get one so I can start on some small stuff.

For those of you who know about things like this, what kind of tablet should I buy? I'm not really doing professional, commissioned work, but a bit like a hobby that may or may not turn serious. I don't want to buy a basic tablet that's for basic document writing and stuff like that, but one for actual drawing...

Who can help me with this? Stuff like size and dimensions, pressure level sensitivity, and price would be helpful.
Especially the price part.

FALSE!!!

A lot of artists (including me) still prefer traditional methods like pencil & paper then scanning in the work... then lining it.

Anyway... I have a Wacom 3x5 or so tablet and a 14" tablet pc.

The bigger the drawing area, the better

The tablet PC is better in my opinion since you get to see /exactly/ where you're drawing while looking at the tablet XD  However, these range around USD1000.

And that's for the kind that aren't good at being much else (no offense, but those aren't super-great laptops if you factor out the super-awesome tablet part). For a really good computer AND tablet, you'd be better off with a standard desktop and a large new touch-screen monitor (specifically, the drawing kind). But those are EXPENSIVE, they are. But that's what pros use, if they use tablets.

EDIT: Well, then again, a few use iPhones for some of their stuff (that NYTimes guy, and some Disney artists can make some HAWT stuff with that little silicon slab). Just wanted to clarify that big fancy-smancy computers aren't necessary, as long as your 1337.

your/you're: Your is ownership of something you have (eg. your computer). You're is short for "you are" (eg. You're really stupid). Do not confuse the two.
there/their/they're: There is describing a location (eg. Go over there). Their is ownership of a group (eg. Their games). They're is short for 'they are' (eg. They're jailbait).

Many artists use tablets. Not all. Some great pieces are made with computer tablets, however.

If you are to get one, a quick graphics tablet would work nicely. Look in the topic I gave you...

Argh! I know that, but I make a lot of little mistakes when I type (especially when I'm half asleep, as I am now and as I was last night).

I won't be making lots of money real fast, but I guess by the end of this summer I can get a total of several hundred dollars. Definitely nor in the thousands, but maybe a couple hundred...

I think I'll get an intuo4 medium, cause that's only about 350 or so, which isn't unbelievable expensive. I like the pressure sensitivity(I'm really into large # for that for some reason), and the small sizes are... seriously, small.
