Okay Namk, I'll take your word for it and I'll take your post as something that wasn't trying to embarrass me publicly.

I am really my worst critic. Even though I see a small increase of the quality of my mapping I don't think I'm perfect at it. I do think that I'm gradually getting better. Proverb; Rome wasn't built in a day. I also think that you cant force improvement if someone hasn't personally attained it. Proverb; You can lead a horse to water but cant make him drink.

Everytime I make a map I take in to reason the good things about a map and the bad things about the map. I then evaluate on how I can make it better. Afterwards I discard everything bad I noticed and try again. Each time I make a map I do improve slightly so what I said still remains true. However, you took what I said as "I'm perfect, stfu" instead of "cut me some slack, I'm trying hard to be better." You can read all the tutorials in the world but if you don't learn for yourself (which I taught myself how to do everything from scratch) you wont understand the mechanics of mapping. (The "why does this go here', 'how would this translate into reality?', 'Will this make the map look plastic?', 'What can I do to improve my current level')

Final proverb: "Practice makes perfect."

[stuff about getting better at mapping]

sorry for my reaction, but when criticism is met with "yeah well I've gotten better since then" rather than something more like...
"yeah, I noticed that in the past too and worked to fix it, thanks for pointing out out though, here are some better examples of my more current mapping", I took it as totally blowing me off and it was insulting.

long story short, misinterpretation.
