Hello there!
I really need some assistance, and I know you guys and gals are adept at this, so...
Here goes:

I'm using RPGM2003, and my issue is with "party ordering."
The specific issue is: I'm attempting to allow the player to switch between onscreen characters,
but I don't want it to interfere with the events I've made. Is there any way to have, say:
PARTY ORDER:
Hero 2
Hero 1 (Main character)
Hero 3
Hero 4

EVENT:
Hero 1 talking to Hero 2.
....with my problem, Hero 2 is talking to Hero 2.

Can this problem be resolved? Any help is greatly appreciated!  :)

Uh... maybe I should have moved this to event troubleshooting instead... oh well...

Ummm havent' touched RMRK3 in awhile, but do you just want it to display the char name?

I think you can do \n[ID] to display the name of hero ID

Sorry! Guess I should've been a little clearer. I've attempted to do something similar, but my issue also extends to the fact that I've added character portraits to the dialogue. Literally, the event I have set up shows one character speaking to another. It just gets really strange when the one character speaking is not the one intended (say, I want #1 to tell #2 something, but instead, #2 is telling it to himself, or #3 is talking to #2 in #1's place) ....does that make any sense? :^_^':

EDIT:

After some inner deliberating and toying with the system, I've come up with a solution of my own. I'm terribly sorry if I've wasted anyone's time, but I now know of a way to bridge this issue, and will comment on it for anyone who needs it.

1- Whenever an event is created, the onscreen character should be set to an invisible/nonexistant sprite.
2- Create an event of the characters you want to act in this little cutscene. (Heroes 1 and 2)
3- With the onscreen character not appearing, while the desired characters' sprites taking action, the event should go by without a cinch.
