PS3 is hilarious.  They go through all this effort to make an extremely fast and capable system, albeit high priced, but then it gets shafted in cross-platform titles because development is so much better on the XBOX 360 XD

Calintz

I'm not gonna argue this subject.
PS3 performs better, and has better service. End of story.. .. ..

Also, PS3 are reliable, being a Sony Product. I don't know anybody personally who has had a single problem with their PS3, however, I have three immediate friends whose Xbox's crashed repeatedly. One friend has gone through 3of them. Fuck Xbox. It's the joke of the gaming world. Wii beats it in my opinion.

Ehhh...
It kinda goes both ways. But I think that PS3 is better than Xbox360.
The only problem I've ever had with PS3 is the Headsets. Xbox360 wins when it comes to headsets (Turtle Beach Ear Force ftw).
But other than that the PS3 is better than the 360.

And the PS3 isn't high priced at all o_O
The xBox360 is actually way over priced considering what you get.

Like take for instance, the Xbox360 Arcade package, you get 256 MB storage(w00T!), 1 controller, 1 AV cable, Free Silver Membership(to actually play online it costs money) and that's it for 199.99.
Now for the Elite Package, you get 120 GB storage(same as PS3 slim standard), 1 controller, 1 headset, 1 Network Cable, 1 AV cable, Free Silver Membership(To actually play it costs money) and can play over 300+ xbox games. That's all you get for 299.99.

Now for the PS3. I'll just go into what Calintz got and not the other packages.
120 GB HD, Blu-Ray player built in, WiFi built in, Wireless Controller, FREE Playstation Network membership, AV Cable, USB cable(to charge controller). All for 299.99.

Now think about it for a second. How much would internet a year cost for xbox? $50 a year, $19.99 every 3 months or $7.99 a month. That adds up fast. You could be saving $50 a year using PS3. Plus it comes with Built-in WiFi. WiFi for an xbox costs $70 for an adapter. So your basically paying $50 a year and $70 dollars starting out to even get to what a PS3 has to offer on xbox360. Now I do admit, 360 has some good games out there not on PS3. Halo, Gears of War for instance. But now you can just buy them for PC so what's the point?
Not to mention the built in blu-ray player.

But we are kinda getting off subject...

And Calintz, the Sony Bravia TVs look major cool. Look kinda expensive though o_O

Oh and PS. Wii ftw (:

Blue-Ray player was worth the entire price of the PS3 when it came out. Microsoft is dumb as fuck thinking it could get away with not including it. It's a fucking rip-off with the highest console rate failures of any of the next-gen concoles.

But you are right, it's way easier to make games for the 360. Definitely a pro in a gaming community not ready and capable of taking command of the PS3s far superior specs.

winkio

no, you people don't understand, I'm not hating on the system.  They system is great.

The short explanation:
The XBOX 360 and PS3 process code differently and because of that, games will not perform to their full potential when ported.  Thus, the PS3 gets shafted because cross platform games are developed for the 360 environment and then ported to the PS3, because the 360 is much nicer for developers.

The long explanation:
The XBOX 360 has a certain amount of cores (3 or 4 I think) that handle all the processing.  These are high powered cores that can handle multi-threaded stuff and all, just like the dual cores on computers.  The PS3 has a different processing system consiting of 10 or 12 smaller processing units that work together, but with different rules than a multi-core.  Code must be written differently to use all of the PS3's power than to utilize all of the XBOX 360s power.  These are huge differences in the foundation of code, so most games are not completely rewritten, but rather ported to one system, thus not taking advantage of its potential.  In the development world, it is nicer, cleaner, and easier to work with the 360, so most companies develop to use the 360 to its fullest potential, then port to PS3.  Thus, the PS3 gets shafted.

PS3 is ahead of it's time so much that no one wants to try and keep up. Can't blame them though, it's prolly a bitch to code for like you said. Only game that really caught my eye in terms of PS3 exclusive content was the Batman: Arkham Asylum game. Ridiculously good.

Winkio's pretty right. In fallout 3 when drinking out of a sink its very smooth in the 360. My dad got the ps3 version for some unknown reason even though we had it already. Anyways when I saw my dad drink out of the sink his character wasn't drinking out of the sink. He was drinking out of the air next to the sink.

He was also drinking out of the table next to the sink before. Kinda whacked up. In that same game when you go into third person view it kinda glitches and keeps the character to the left of the screen zoomed in and to change that you have to sit down and then stand back up.

My friend has oblivion for the ps3 and there were a few problems sitting down before. Sometimes the game would freeze for a few minutes when trying to go into a house.

The fallout and oblivion glitches happened before Bethesda released an update to the game.

I've been looking for a headset for PS3 in stores to replace my Turtle Beach that I had with my 360.
Thank you!!! (:

@Blizzard:
Oh.. .. .. :sigh:

Unfortunately, I am selling my PS2 for store credit to a nearby Gamestop to pre-order Lunar Silver Star Harmony for the PSP, and some other stuff.

Chaos Legion looked really good though. Reminded me of a Devil May Cry.

King Munkey

If you want something like Devil May Cry get Bayonetta it is a freaking awesome game.

G_G Is my hero!
Munkey != monkey
Munkey > monkey

Calintz

I'm not impressed with that game.. .. ..
I didn't play Devil May Cry a lot, I just enjoyed hacking and slashing occasionally.

Women portrayed in the sense that's given through that game just doesn't drive home with this kid.

King Munkey

I didn't care much for the story or the chick. I just thought the gameplay was great. Lol.

G_G Is my hero!
Munkey != monkey
Munkey > monkey

Calintz

I don't want to hear it Munkey!!
You bought the game because the protagonist was a woman and we both know it!! ADMIT IT!!

I personally own a Wii and an Xbox 360. My uncle owns a PS3.

In my humble opinion I like the Xbox 360 more, but the PS3 is pretty wicked too, but I do not own it so I don't get to play it as much.

Anyway, nice kit, you're off to a good start, I'm also a HUGE fan of GoW, I own both I & II Platinum Edition, because I have a PS2 :)

In all honesty, I would suggest games, but I don't know what's good on the PS3, since I play my Xbox 360 way more than my uncle's PS3. (For obvious reasons, he doesn't live with us.) Good luck with your gaming! :D

@Blizzard: I played Chaos Legion a long ass time ago, was an amazing game, but I had it for rental. I managed to beat it though, I'm not going to lie, it had a great battle system and gameplay for such an old game.
