How to make dark caves or locations with glowing torches?

Hello, ive been using RMXP for a while but i still dont understand how to make the location dark. I tried using fog but it just makes it.... foggy.

Anyways, also how do i make lamps and stuff glow?

Or just use the 'Change Screen (Color?) Tone' event -_-

yes im sorry hellfire dragon, i figured this out like 5 min after i posted this, dunno why, aha

but still the flickering lantons still piss me off :/

Or you can just use photoshop to resize the RTP light charset and animate it :P Honestly, most things in RMXP don't require a script. Particularly not ambiance.
