Hello, just curious, is it possible to make an RMPX game and then change it to RMX-OS after? Any help is greatly appreciated before I get too far into my game!  8)

WhiteRose

Yes, it's possible using Blizzard's RMX-OS, though you'll probably have the best results if you design your game to be online from the beginning.

jttsteelix

Well, I understand how it would be easier, but I don't understand how to get the server online for the OS at all!

Read the manual for the server. Read it all. It may take long time, but a game takes long time to do and even longer if it is a online one.

jttsteelix

I know, but I don't understand the manual. X_x

I've done everything, but it doesn't make sense how to get the server online.

Blizzard

If you don't understand even the basic instructions and a simple step-by-step installation procedure, you should consider giving up. It's not going to become easier and if you can't handle even the basics, it will be literally impossible for you to ever finish your game.

HAH!  :w00t:

Sorry to break the news to ya, I ain't one to give up.  :gunz:

Cool. I will definitely not play your poorly kept game if you can ever get it online.

stripe103

The manual is as simple as it can be, if you don't understand what you need to do, I'd say that there is no meaning with continuing to make a online game. There is quite much to keep track of and you need to know quite much about how networks work. Give it up or find someone that want to do it for you.

Uhh.... yeah... because there are LOTS of people wanting to do all the complicated scripting to put your game on RMX-OS...

stripe103

Well, no. But I don't think that there is anyone on CP that want to discuss the whole manual so that steelix can understand. So that is the only option. Or read through the manual many times until he understand or get tired and stops trying.

jttsteelix

I'm SORRY, I don't remember where i asked for all of your opinions!  :<_<:

I don't care what ANY of you say, no matter WHO you are, I'm going to finish the game, and it WILL be finished the way I want it to be.

End. Of. Discussion.

Kett Shee

Wow, such aggressiveness. I would say that they were merely telling it to you straight rather than giving an opinion. They're basically giving you the cold hard truth: if you don't know what you're doing, especially if you're too stubborn to accept it, you're going to fail. Hard.
You're all daft cunts. I love you. <3

jttsteelix

...I only looked at the manual for like 5 minutes! I said I didn't understand it, I never said I wasn't going to look into it more later and figure i out!

Mods, please lock this topic so he can look into it further and figure it out~

By the way: topic reported so it will happen faster(I hope it even does happen).

Good call on the damage control Branden.

You know what I like?  People with social skills.  Where did all of them go?  Oh, what's that?  Off the internet?  Are you serious?  Why?  Oh.  Well that makes sense.  I thought it was something totally different.  Thanks for clearing that up.

Blizzard

Lol, winkio.

Let me just add something at the end.

Then stop whining like a 10 year old because you can't get the server online.
