I've been around this forum for awhile, but never really posted much until recently *shrug* just wanted to say hi My name is Will, i'm 22, and I'm shooting to become a game designer/story board writer xD I pretty much dabble in every aspect of the game making process out of necessity since I can't really seem to pull a team together *shrug* hmmm I have an associate's in computer programming...and I live in a small apartment in Houston Texas that's me in a nutshell haha well see you guys in the forum

I'm a jack of all trades myself, so I have a fair understanding of where you're coming from. RMXP isn't the most advanced engine on the market, but it's a fantastic starting point for learning and understanding the basic essentials of the game design and development process. As I'm sure you're already aware, this site can be a pretty great resource and has a lot of brainpower if you get stuck on something.

I have no idea what you're talking about.
Did you know that cats can have seizures? Apparently, it's actually fairly common among older housecats as their dietary needs change. Yesterday was my first time witnessing an animal having a seizure... I was checking the boards here when I heard a very loud rustling sound, so I ran out into my living room to see what was making the racket. My sister's cat, Trey, was lying on his side with his back to the sofa, rapidly kicking up the carpet with his involuntary spasms. Slightly panicked and unsure of what to do, I did the only thing I could... I held him as still as I could and lay down beside him until he became lucid and aware of his surroundings. The seizure lasted about one to two minutes, but they were terrifying.

An interesting thing that you may not know about cats is that it is apparently impossible for them to choke on their own tongues when seizing. Not knowing this fact at the time (and terrified he may bite his tongue or cause other serious harm to himself, I used the sleeve of my leather jacket to try and help keep him stabilized. Unfortunately, I was also bitten quite badly on my right pointer finger in the process. He didn't do it consciously and I knew the risks (if not the facts) when I did it, so I have no regrets... but it's incredibly painful.

We got him to the vet as soon as possible. Blood tests show that he has a nutritional deficiency relating to a minor kidney problem, and as long as we keep him on a specialized diet he should be fine.

All the same, it was a very stressful experience and I sincerely hope that none of you other pet owners ever have to go through such a thing.

@Tyril132: Yea, RMXP is a great engine to start with. I figure that once I can get a few projects out I'll shoot for maybe Torque or something. Classic SNES/early PS graphics still has a niche' out there though so who knows *shrug* At least at this level of spriting I can attempt to draw it but it would help me out immensely if I had a "specialist" for that lol I've always liked this place, it is like the central hub of everything scripting related (or at least that's what it is to me xD). I'm still newb when it comes to ruby but I'm attempting to pick it up now. Now...to the most important topic... what exactly is this fish that I should be minding? oO hehe

@Winkio: H-Town ftw! hehe, yea i stepped down from engineering after the advanced calculus and drafting classes O_O wasn't too hard but I came to an ephipany that I wanted to make video games and use my crazy imagination instead of drafting pipes <.< I'm in the westchase area, maybe starbucks at some point? hehe

@Tyril132: Oh ok, I was about to throw on my shield bracelet hehehe as for a terrifying experience relating to cats, last week when I threw a trash bag into the nearest dumpster a cat leaps out of it at me O_O I almost had a heart attack lmao btw i'm pretty crazy too just wait til you get a taste of some of my stories hehe

@Subsonic_Noise: I agree, the lack of beard takes away from the "wise-elder stereotype" and I most likely wouldn't look at him the same *nods* well...maybe if he wore glasses *nods* lol
