Switching from a Windows PC to Mac?

Well, since it's my birthday next month and I'll get a job soon, I decided to get myself a Macbook Pro 13''. I had enough reasons to decide for a Mac instead of a PC, but I won't discuss those here, I don't want this to become another Mac vs. PC thread.
My question now is: What is different about the Mac, or actually, what do I need to take care of when switching from a PC to a Mac? I already started getting Apps and burning them on DVDs (Logic 9, EWQL Ra, Symphonic Orchestra, Symphonic Choirs, Stormdrum, Toontrack EZDrummer <3) , since I don't know how well torrenting will work on a Mac. The thing is, the system harddrive in my PC is veeery old and sometimes already makes weird noises, so I expect it to crash soon.. which means, I already need to prepare everything now.
Anyone here got a clue about this? For bonus points, anyone here got a nice way for converting my Cubase projects for Logic Pro?

I thought there was a Cubase port for Mac.

Yes, Logic 9 is made by the same company who makes the soundcards for Macs, which means it's optimized. Also, it has some nice features that Cubase hasn't. So, I at least wanted to try and also prepare for switching eventually.

Actually only the sound card driver counts. If you have ASIO that's running your soundcard, it doesn't matter whether you're on Windows or Mac OS and whether you use Cubase, Reason, Logic, FL Studio, etc.

Torrenting will work just fine on a Mac; I had OSX installed on my old computer for a while and didn't have any problems.

Then I just wasted 20 DVDs... oh well, a backup doesn't do any harm, does it? xD

well the main difference between mac and pc that is actually of concern in terms of day to day use. the inter face is slightly different. ie. the file edit ect. bar in just about every program is integrated into the top bar. but don't worry the interface is just as intuitive as a pc and you will get used to it.

So I hear that you are planning to get a Mac. :)
It really is a great machine and I am certain that you will be satisfied. :)

I don't know the answer to that specific question, perhaps someone on Apple support forums knows so I suggest that you try going there.

And regarding the switch itself - Mac OS X is really intuitive, I don't know anyone who had trouble getting used to it. :)
Everything is easy accessible, and if you cannot find anything, the built-in help is there to assist you. And unlike help on Windows, this one actually resolves your questions. :)
And regarding software - I didn't have any trouble finding replacement for programs that I used on Windows, everything was just there. :) And there are many great freeware programs, so you won't have to spend lots of money to get all that you need. :)

If you have any specific questions, just ask. :)

PS Are you planning to get Magic Mouse too? I am extremely satisfied with mine, it really is magic! :D
