Just a simple request

But could you guys please make it so that I can actually upload an avatar that's not tiny as all hell?

It refuses even to let me place this in there!

Blizzard

Max dimensions for avatars are 140x200. If I allowed a higher width, it would screw up the forum's layout and if I allowed a higher height, posts will be screwed. Both of that already happened once because somebody put up a gigantic avatar and I'm not letting that thing repeat.

Then can;'t you find a script or something that automatically resizes an avatar to fit the dimensions? I know it's possible - other forums I go to do that.

Aqua

Or just resize them yourself...?

Blizzard

There. It took me less time to download, resize and reupload that thing than it took you to write those two posts.

There's such a thing as future convenience, you know.

That is a default feature in SMF.

This is what some consider to be "not a problem."

Blizzard

Automatic resizing blurs the picture visibly more than manual resizing. I wouldn't call that kind of thing convenient.

Huh, never does that at the forums I go to.

Automatic resize also wouldn't just affect avatars that were too large, it'd blow up the smaller ones, and stretch ones that didn't fit just one of the dimensions.

Instead of expecting websites to do your work for you, just open paint or gimp or something and resize it down.

Also this has been asked for already great job searching.

Tinypic will resize [ics too. Just use that. Actually, all image hosting sites that I've used let you do that.
