Hello. A friend of mine has a problem with the RPG Maker XP and neither he nor I can come up with a solution. I used the search function, but couldn't find anything related, so I'm posting here.

Anyway, according to my friend, every time he tries to save his project or to playtest (over the maker), an error message pops up that says "Failed to create process". This is really annoying, since you won't get very far if you can't save the progress you made with your project. I was wondering if anyone here had the same problem once, and what we could do about it. If there is more information required, I will provide it.

I would be thankful if someone here could help us. Thank you for reading.

Does he (and/or RMXP) have proper permission rights on his user to write to the computer? lol

Greyback3792

Yes, he has. Apparently that is not the problem.

Are the drivers in the right place and not corrupted? Have you attempted to re-install? That sounds like more of an internal error with Ruby 1.8 than anything game related. Also, is he using special drivers to get the whole game for free from the demo, which I know nobody here is doing?
I am done scripting for RMXP. I will likely not offer support for even my own scripts anymore, but feel free to ask on the forum, there are plenty of other talented scripters that can help you.

So yeah, this is merely a post for the sake of closure, I guess...

I've tried to get more information about his drivers, but my friend didn't give me any replies between this and my last post, so I assume that there's nothing left I can do about his problem. I'd still like to thank everyone here who took the time to respond to this thread.

Another thing it could easily be is he changed the name of "Game.exe" or "Game.ini". That will do it.

I will tell him that if he ever decides to come online again. Thanks. :)

ForeverZer0

Screw him. If he isn't concerned about it, why should you be. Unless he's dead. In that case just marginally screw him.

Nah, it's not like he does it on purpose or because he doesn't care. He has some serious problems with his job and money right now. The last time he disappeared he even had to pawn his computer. I can't blame him that the status of his RMXP isn't his top priority right now.

ForeverZer0

Hey, that sounds like another way of saying "he has himself a habit".

Been there. Rehab. Two years clean now.

Good for you F0

Thanks. If I didn't know any better, I would say we all got way off topic here.  :haha:
