In a convo in IRC I got a sudden Idea. We have several talented scriptrs and a ton of people who can't script but not really any one in between. and at the same time we have a request forum but almost non of them get fulfilled.

So here is my proposition. I will start a scripting class and we will use active requests as learning material. I won't do any of the scripting the students will. I'll set a request as a learning project and guide the student through completing the request. in the process people should learn how to script full complex systems.

What are the communities thoughts? do we have people interested in being students?
I no longer keep up with posts in the forum very well. If you have a question or comment, about my work, or in general I welcome PM's. if you make a post in one of my threads and I don't reply with in a day or two feel free to PM me and point it out to me.<br /><br />DropBox, the best free file syncing service there is.<br />

As I already mentioned a few times throughout the months, I wanted to put a guide together how to learn scripting. It's not a tutorial, it's a guide how you can learn it yourself. I will additionally contribute this guide as learning material and as teaching material.

Ah, excellent.  You liked my amusing sideshow, yes?  I'm just a simple fool, my wit entertains the wise, and my wisdom fools the fools.

ok that's one I'll need at least three solid commitments before I do this. but please don't use that as a reason to sign up. only say you'll do this If you really will put forth the time to work on it.

I'd give it a shot; I've been trying to learn scripting for a while. I wouldn't have much time until my classes in school end, however, which will be able three weeks.

Ryex

I'm not sure how I'll do it. but I'll probably give about one to two hours of stuff to work on a week. possibly less. hopefully thats not to much.

So, how will this be done? Via msn or irc or something? Or just via the forum?

Sounds good. We should probably set up a chat group for the purpose.

Things I Hate

1. People who point at their wrist asking for the time... I know where my watch is pal, where the hell is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?

2. People who are willing to get off their a** to search the entire room for the TV remote because they refuse to walk to the TV and change the channel manually.

3. When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". Damn Right! What good is cake if you can't eat it?

4. When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it is. Why the hell would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they?

5. When people say while watching a film, "did ya see that?" No Loser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the damn floor!

6. People who ask "Can I ask you a question?"... Didn't give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?

Jragyn

Not having to rely on others or guessing on scripts would infact be pretty useful.
I'm in if you'll allow it.
Just gimme a when and where...

Though I think a group-session of MSN or something would be ideal, versus Forum chat.
