Oh dear, those shoes really arent shaded enough >_<
Anyway, I'm going to make some action sprites for this later on. For now though, we need more characters in this. Anyone else want to be cameo'd?

Not a problem. How big of an axe, what kind of blade?

Also, I think Branden should be an enemy, as should Cthulu. Then the demo should have branden transforming into Cthulu!

I'm not really sure about that naming system, it doesn't feel quite right. But I couldn't think of a class for a staff-user.


nice work niche! the only nitpick I have is the fact that the shoes aren't really shaded that well.

Well, medium / large blade would work, and I kinda envision an axe that's curved blade on one side, and warhammer on the other side...

G_G, we need to update this.

Since you have a sprite and a weapon now, you need a class. Soul's character needs a name first of all, and then the enemies list needs to be updated with me, Branden and Cthulu. I've been doodling away and I should have a proper battler for you later today.

BTW, Niche, do you want to be credited for your contribution to the RTP with your real name or only as The Niche?

EDIT: I have changed the first post a bit. Some of the graphics categories are unnecessary in RMXP IMO so I have merged some of them. Also I have added "Iconsets" instead of "Icons"

RGSS windowskins will stay the same, but ARC windowskins will be different.
What do you mean with the tilesets?

Ok, what'll be the templates for ARC windowskins?

What I mean by the tilesets is, what kind of ones do we want?

We should definitely have:


  • A grassland tileset.

  • A forest tileset.

  • At least one town tileset and a matching interior tileset.

  • A cave tileset.

  • A castle tileset and matching interior tileset.



Any others?

EDIT: What size should the battlers be?

As we already decided, there won't be special themed tilesets but instead tilesets with very specific pieces because you will be able to combine as many different tilesets in one map as you want. Basically we can have one tileset for houses, one for grass, one for roads, etc.

We haven't decided on the format of the windowskin yet. We will think about that stuff later after a first version has been released.

As in you put tiles together to make a tileset by use of the editor? Sounds epic.

Something like that. Those will be mini-tilesets that you put together for every map you want and then use them as if they were one actual normal tileset.
