I re-installed Windows 7 today and after it was all said and done, my Ethernet drivers were not installed. Thankfully my built in Wireless card works just fine but I'd really like to resolve this issue. I've tried googling it a bit but I haven't found a working solution yet. I have never ran into this issue before, could anyone provide some insight?

If you have the disk with your drivers that cam with your PC, they are on that, if not, go to the manufacturer's website and they can be downloaded. I know I always have to reinstall them, its just part of a new installation.

I have a tool that creates driver backups so that I can simply do a "restore" on a new OS and they are all back to normal again. You can also create a custom built of Windows with them pre-installed, but I've only done that once, I like to due them manually for some reason.

I finally got it. The ethernet's manufacturer was unknown. Had to look up my motherboard to find out what ethernet drivers it needed. >.> Huge pain in the ass. But I finally got it.

I meant the manufacturer of the PC, as in if you have a Dell, go to Dell.com, etc.
That would work so long as you didn't change the hardware around on the computer.

Obviously if your PC is custom built you can't do that, but in that case you would know the card.

I once had a laptop whose LAN adapter would start working as soon as I installed the audio drivers. I have no idea why or how, but that's what happened. And it was the same after every reinstall of Windows, regardless whether it was XP or 7.

Well depending on your audio drivers, my audio and ethernet drivers are both Realtek. Maybe that's why?

Yes, that was the same situation with me. It's still weird that they'd put both drivers into one package and just call them audio drivers. I never had separate LAN drivers. They also made my dial-up modem work.
