quextion: does writing a new script that modifies the function of an RTP script count as changing an RTP script?

Essentially... Can I change something from the RTP as long as I define it in a NEW script location? (So I'm not replace the old script, just nullifying it with my new method...)

Or are we not allowed to screw with anything but the ABS and add-ons...period?

Yes. Technically ALL script have to modify the RTP scripts at some point. You are just not allowed to touch the originals in their own slots. Though, you are allowed to copy paste a piece into a new slot and edit it.

And another question. Can a Custom Menu Script be use.

Of course. But since it's not an extension to any ABS, it counts at custom script which adds the the number of coded lines used in the game.

C'mon, people! We need a higher variety of ABSes! We have Blizz-ABS, XAS and Behemoth ABS so far. Is nobody here going to sign up using NeoABS, RTH-ABS or Prexus ABS? Or at least more people using XAS or Behemoth?

the ppl already know which abs is the best...and thats Blizz-ABS. It would do to enter an ABS contest with an inferior ABS...just sayin....

edit: um....do we have to script our own addins or can we request someone to script them...Im still fuzzy on this and not sure it was mtioned in da rulza...?

You can request it of course. But remember, that counts as custom script even if it's for the ABS.

Alright, people! The contest starts in around 35 hours. Be sure to check whether there are new ABS versions out (i.e. Blizz-ABS is now v2.2) and prepare to get started. Keep in mind that you can upgrade your ABS version anytime.

Guys, I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to drop-out of the competition. The only good idea I had wouldn't work at all for this contest. Also, there's a few other reasons. Sorry

However, I plan on finishing the game (sans ABS) sooner or later. That'll be fun. So... Yea...
