The title is pretty self explanatory but I was wondering if it was possible to have the field music resume from where it was before battle after the battle has ended.

This is what happens now:
1) On map (halfway through song)
2) Random encounter! (battle music begins, victory music plays)
3) Battle scene ends and you return to map, at the beginning of the song again.  >:(

I want 3) to be this:
3) Battle scene ends and you return to map, halfway through the song like before.  ;)

I've tried looking in the help file, but only found play and stop, no pause or 'remember' or something. I looked at Google and only found queries about music from battle continuing on map (not what I want).

Thanks in advance, and I really hope this is achievable. :'(

Blizz posted something about this here: http://forum.chaos-project.com/index.php?topic=19.0

However, I know I have something like that buried on my compy. Lemme just dig it up here...

Here we go. It's a Japanese script (of course) with a dll file that needs to be there. Here is the project download for you. I hope that this is what you wanted.
Stuff I've made:

"Never think you're perfect or else you'll stop improving yourself."

"Some people say the glass is half full... some half empty... I just wanna know who's been drinking my beer."

Who needs to be credited? I might use this in CP as well.

This was a feature I was interested in long ago.

Way before I was even aware of Chaos Project!! I never did find out how this was accomplished, but it seems as though daylight has been brought forth.

And I just realized I fail at listing the author of the script on my computer. >.<

I think it's marked in the dll file's Details (under Properties). Unfortunately, Server 2008 doesn't have support for Chinese, so I can't read it. It would be listed on the website www.66rpg.com (mentioned in the dll's details as well), but that site is temporarily down for some reason, apparently.

Bottom Line: my guess is it would be credited to someone called SNSER, but better to wait until the site comes back to confirm that. Sorry about that. -_-

I just tested it out and it's exactly what I wanted. <3 Just need to fix a few things and it's perfect.
Thank you so much again shdw! :D

Blizzard

o.o; It works? I'll be sure to use it in CP then. <3

Yep, although my only qualm would be that it works so well, the song resumes right after the battle music, almost blending in with the map music. :haha: And the code is kinda rigid (not much aliasing going on... D:) and uncommented. :<_<:

But hey I'm being picky, and I'm sure it can be easily changed. ^-^

Blizzard

I won't have that problem as I can script a start delay for the map music. xD

If anyone's interested...

I just realised that it doesn't work for mp3 files (at least not for me). I did some hardcore snooping and came up with this:
Script which uses FMOD Ex dll instead.
It doesn't seem to work as smoothly with the pause/resume functions, but it boasts support for a lot of file types.

Fantasist

Already archived that one, seems promising, doesn't it?
Do you like ambient/electronic music? Then you should promote a talented artist! Help out here. (I'm serious. Just listen to his work at least!)

:D Yes, definitely - I've already managed to make it sorta compatible with a music looping control script.... powerful combination.... >=)
