ooh! 2 ^ 16, in an array of 16! nice.

I'm awaiting Blizz to make a nice little Ruby implementation of this (though, it would be much better done in C wrapped in RGSS... if only Enterbrain allowed that...)

You know, just

unsigned short Grid [16];

void set_grid_block( unsigned short x, unsigned short y, int b ) {
    b ? ( Grid[x] |= (0x01 << y) ) : ( Grid[x] &= ~(0x01 << y) );
}
int read_grid_block( unsigned short x, unsigned short y ) {
    return Grid[x] & (0x01 << y);
}

With some Ruby code for the class and a Sprite on the RGSS side :/

EDIT:
wait, where are those numbers over 65536 coming from 0_o?

EDIT2:
I used log 131070 / log 2, and it looks like this is 17-bit. Screw this guy.

If you copy your pattern from the game
and paste it its long numbers, then you copy the number, paste it in there and you can see what other people made.

fugibo

I know, but I was assuming that since this is a 16x16 grid, it would be a 16 16-bit numbers to store the data.
That way, you could have the on/off switch for each square in a 16-square column, and have 16 columns.

But it hit 17-bit for some reason :/

SHUT UP. THIS IS A THREAD WHERE WE MAKE FUN SOUNDS, POST THEM AND TALK ABOUT THEM. GO TO COMPUTER BOARD IF YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT THIS.

ok. First line I picked a random box. then did the same for every other row. then I followed a pattern from there. someone find the pattern!
