Spoiler: ShowHide
Some of my music is buggered up when I try to play it in XP. It's just fine when I load it up from my desktop to VLCplayer, but when XP plays it, it's all ... cracked, I guess, and glitchy. But, it's only some of my music... What is the meaning of this? I dug up some ancient resources - they used to work perfectly on XP - and now 10% of them are ... messed. I've tried making a new project, but the music still bugs.

Is it my version of XP (Your average, basic official version)? Or the format of the music being wrong? Some really good pieces may have to be sacrificed, here...

Edit: Solved by .ogg conversion, using Audacity.

The music resources I promised you guys for the solution: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=O7W1F6XX

Hmm... I'll look into it and get back to you.

EDIT:
Wow, I don't see why, though I'm just peeking at the file attributes through finder. Are you running Vista? And, though I'm not very familiar with MP3, isn't it supposed to 3-layer instead of 2?

(also, nice, ~200kbps bitrate -- much higher than most mp3s are set to)

Arkaea Halfdemon

No, I'm running xp.

And, my music problems are solved by converting to .ogg. So, I guess I'll resolve this thread, and when I'm done converting the rest, I'll upload my selections as I promised.

Once again, is MP3 supposed to be 2-layer?

Arkaea Halfdemon

I honestly don't know. I'm guessing the "3" in MP3 suggests three layers. There used to be an mp2 format, but it's extremely outdated - I'm guessing that one is 2-layered.

... But, um, it's really all guesswork on my part.
