No, the illegally leaked RTM -- the official, full Windows 7 Ultimate that manufacturers are getting straight from Microsoft.

They should really stop acting like people _want_ to be notified that they're using an illegal copy, if they are they probably _want_ to. Just say "We protect our mediocre, overpriced software with over-the-top, poorly implemented DRM" and get it over with already...

Wrong. There are shops that sell Windows copies illegally (usually smaller shops, etc.). When somebody then pays for the pirate copy, that person would actually want to know that they got scammed and that they don't have an original even though they paid for it.

There's a difference. When you go to a shady dealer, you know that you're going to a shady dealer. You are well aware that the car might be stolen. But what if you are an honest citizen who wanted to buy Windows legally and you had no idea it was a pirated version? D:
