How many resources do you create yourself?

When it comes to sprites, animations, and even music, how much of your game is actually 100% yours? For the past year or so I've been obsessed with making my own resources, but as you can probably imagine, it eats up a bucketload of actual development time.

I'm currently putting the finishing touches on my own character designs, and have one battle spritesheet completed. Once I've done that for all eight characters, I'll start work on a few different field poses, then finally, their skill animations. It can be quite tiresome, but to see it all in action, exactly how you imagined it, is extremely satisfying. Although at the same time it can be a tad frustrating when something you've been working on doesn't quite come together at the end, forcing you back to the drawing board.

I've made a couple of rough tilesets, but I'm debating whether I should bother with any more, since they require a lot more time and effort compared to characters. The only reason I started making them was because I was tired of finding tilesets online and not knowing how to best utilise them. But at the same time I didn't really want to use anything from the RTP - especially considering the fact that my RPG is set in the modern day.

I've always wanted to try my hand at making my own music, but I've yet to find a program which is both free and easy to use.

I have created a couple of sprites, one song which I will use somewhere later, several general graphics, loads of icons, even a few battlers and some other, mostly graphical stuff. I prefer using my own resources, but as you said, making them eats up loads of time which I don't have.

Being a perfectionist I am, I really dislike when I make an error, especially when drawing, so my relationship with creating graphical resources have been hindered a lot. However, I do not like using common resources, such as Namamura for example, since everyone uses that. Though, I do like to grab a lot of music from different areas. I would make my own if I can understand the way of FL Studio...Or the piano. B)

What's osu!? It's a rhythm game. Thought I should have a signature with a working rank. ;P It's now clickable!
Still Aqua's biggest fan (Or am I?).

Damn near all of mine...

I have made numerous charas. I have made my own tileset. I have even made a windowskin once, Lol...I am constantly editing little things in the default tilesets to reflect the time period depicted in my game...
