@Nam, that'ts kinda what I was saying :P There are morons and fanatics in every group. They'd be moron fanatics even without religion. Besides, Atheism is a religion with sects of its own. Many people our bound together by the belief in a lack of God. Rather than Jesus, they've got Darwin or Einstein. It isn't what they believe, but the type of person they are, that makes them behave in such a manner. While their behavior is based around their belief, replace their belief in God with Atheism and you'd see similar things, but them saying how all religion is going to cease, all Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc. are morons.

so following your logic, you're saying everyone in the world is a moron.
well alright then, moron :)

edit: you also said that being that devoutly religious is a state that you fall into when 'not working' at being 'better'.  What is being devoutly religious a disease now?  Seriously?

No. Being a fanatic is something you transition in if you're not careful. (at least if it's a cause you actively care about). And I didn't say everyone in the world was a moron. I just said that people will be morons regardless of their beliefs. I've known just as many moron Atheists (Atheists who act like the guys in that youtube thread) as I've known  moron religious people. My point is that it isn't their belief that makes people that way, it's who they are and what they do. There have been plenty of fanatic Athiests who have slaughtered people for their belief in a religion. Just like their have been religious fanatics who slaughter Athiests for a belief in no God.

To sum it up "People will be morons. Religion has nothing to do with it."

and that gets back to my main point, instead of calling them 'morons' (which is just a very quiet way of saying that you are better than them), don't judge based on actions.

it makes you as bad as them.

Actually, there's a pretty big difference between judging between right and wrong methods of behavior, and being blind to what the world is really like and your own actions. Personally, I acknowledge that I'm rather a moron on frequent occasions, but that doesn't mean I'm being bad when I look at how they're acting and say "man, that's stupid." Personally, I also think smoking is stupid, but that doesn't mean I'm condemning those who smoke from my high and mighty tower built atop my glorious perfection :P

Same here. Hard not to agree.

I'm christian, and I agree with it I just also think most of us (including especially myself :P) have the tendency towards being morons.
