Ahhh, well I down't memorize any of the FSs. It's not about wasting time to play Brawl, it's more of how much you care to memorize the attack names. Does it help in-game? Nope, not at all. Is it easier when explaining? Nope, about the same. It's more of a method of fandom than anything else, one that I find satisfying. Do you need to know the names to 100 different haruhi doujins and the release dates of the original japanese shows AND how they appear cronologically in the show? No, but it's a symbol of pride. geeky, maybe so, but I won't question your choices as long as they don't hurt me.

ALSO: Chaze we know you love pika. Tell me WHY you love him. Talk about aerials or his spammable DownB...
Okay, I'll make sure it hurts you...Get ready for my Falcon Punch...

...:V:

How close of a match is it when you win? As in, do you "stock" the opponents? Stocking is where you have at least two lives left, it's a close match or a good game at the least if there's one life left for each character. :)

Yea, I usually have at least two lives left at the end of a match. But usually the matches are good (unless you're battling someone who won't stop spamming the same attack (note that I didn't mean taunts. You can spam taunts all you want. I'll just attack you in the middle of it, that's all ^_^) over and over and over). If I lose, then it usually was a close round (In that tournament I mentioned, both losses were incredibly close).

And you reminded me. I once had a birthday party with my friends and we played Melee in ... I believe it's called Loser Out mode, and it's... under Tournament? I forget because I never use that option. xD Anyways, we played for about... two hours, and in that time I got 2nd place once. Every other time it was first place. That's scary...

I use Sonic and Pikachu a lot.  For some reason, I began to use those characters over others without realizing it, and I was usually fighting 80% Sonic/Pikachu before I realized what I was doing.  Since I'd become quite good with them, I decided to make the best of it and learn lots of things to do with them. 8)
And I usually beat out single L9 chars with 1 life left, which I figure makes me about average. :D

Yeah, it's all great like that, using your favorite characters that end up as your favorites in other games...Real classy. I feel Level 9s aren't the best source of practice, yet Subspace on Intense isn't a good practice source either. Classic Mode can easily turn stressful on Intense, yet All-Star can lead to the Level 9 practice problem...Humans players are nice, but online play lags the whole game up and doesn't show true skill...What do you think the best practice source would be? o,o

Well, if I could get you to come over to my house... :)
Other then that, I'll stick with whatever's fastest.

I either 4 stock my oppoenent(5 stock game) or I lose. xD

It strange but I don't barely win, I can only crush people or be beaten. There's no almost.

Vell

Im not too totally awesome. I can't fight more than one lv 9 and I can't switch between characters... like, if I'm playin Ike, then try to play Toon Link, I'll fail horribly for a game or three. then I might get into Toon Link.

Shiek is fast, but I liked her better in Melee, I was better in Melee too, I noticed, then I stopped playing for a few years. anyway. she has good melee moves, has some decent killers, has a good enough recovery, her up B, if you are good with it, can be quite useful, as a damager, and escape source.

Ike is slow, but if you know him, the speed doesnt end up being much of a problem. it took me a few days to get used to him. he has a counter, which automatically makes him useful.

stuff. im bored.

Valcos

Yeah, Im kinda the same. If im snake I either totally own for like 10 rounds straight or i flop for like 3 rounds :^_^':. Cause we usually do free for all 4 way with 3 stock each. I was really good with Wario before but never really won so then when i got into MGS again I just turned to snake and i loved him :shy:. But... if i play on the Zelda map thats a bridge or w.e (dont know what its called... dont even have the game :P) I can never win. Its way to flat for my liking. >:(

Bridge of Eldin. I hate the stage.

Valcos

Yeah thats it..... I never won on it before. My friends kept going there cause I wouldnt be albe to kill anyone :<_<:

Some people consider Bridge of Eldin a stage you can fight on for official tournaments and items like that, but that's obviously just idiotic. The whole stage is flat indeed, but the bridge destruction poses a problem as well. Final Destination is one of the true fair stages, and there's a fair share of others, Smashville is considered one, but nevertheless.

Aqua

Hehe... I love Bridge of Eldin!

Especially when I'm Zelda or Pit...

My mains from melee are still my mains in Brawl:
Zelda/Sheik
Peach
Ice Climbers

And now with these newcomers, there's Pit and the occasional Olimar.

Valcos

I kinda like Olimar... dont like facing him when im snake cause of the little things that attach to me but his special is cool  :haha:. And I like Final Destination... just the bridge is so horribly bad that along with the donkey kong throwing the barrel map >:(

Zelda totally rocks..Sheik.....I can't see what people like about her...Zelda is better imo, but I suppose the best is a nice balence with both :\

I hate final destination ;_; Caues I never aim correctly to get right below the ledge and latch on....

Valcos

I just like it cause Snake can be good sometimes in cqc  :haha:

Sheik's ability is being really, really, fast.
Plus, she's got devestating throws.  Though for true devestation, I prefer Sonic and Pikachu's backwards throw near the edge of ground stages... :D

Yeah Sheik is fast but speed doesn't win the match if you haven't got the skill. I'm not saying using Bowser guarantees the match though....

Fox's original FThrow was 1337 ;_;

Starrodkirby86

Rather, speed and aggression does get you far; it's been proven by Marth, Falco, and other fast monsters like those two. Someone with sole speed and no good attack can't do anything well, such as Captain Falcon, who used to be so good, but now he turned into a sloppy mess. Not saying he stinks now, but he got nerfed badly. At least Falcon Punch still does a whopping.

Everything used to be 1337...>_>

Tournaments I usually will play in have banned Sonic from the roster, as well as smash balls.  The reason is simple actually.  Sonic is an absolute cheap shot, and in reality should NOT have been added in to Brawl.  Want a good replacement character?  I think anyone would be better than Sonic as a brawl character, because they just made him too powerful.

My hatred of Sonic actually stems to a tournament that was held at my school in which some jerk claimed it to be hosted by the club I was vice president in.  He allowed Smash Balls and he entered the tournament (which are two taboos right there.  If you ORGANIZE a tournament, you should NOT be entering the fucking tournament because if you win, you have everyone hating the GROUP that was said to have organized it, not the INDIVIDUAL who lied and actually did organize it...plus he cheated the club out of $50)  I enter tournaments with friends, and I can usually get to the Semi Finals rounds using either Marth, Ike, or Captain Falcon.

Marth method:  Counter Attack abuse.  Marth has good speed, though it's fairly nerfed compared to his Brawl self.  It's not too difficult to use Counter Attack, just don't spam it.  I beat the guy who was using Sonic all the time with smash balls active by using a Dancing Blade combo, juggling him in the air til his damage was over 200% and then the smashball shows up.  He gets it and I kill his ass, taking the ball and killing him the second his invincible wears off.

Ike Method:  Ike is a powerhouse.  He may be slow, but his attacks are vicious.  Though in all honesty it feels a bit like choosing M.Bison or Akuma in Street Fighter, a character whose power is only in his speed.

Captain Falcon Method:  This is actually a gag for me.  I love to falcon punch people out of the arena, especially doing last-second kills by falcon punching them form the edge, then when they try to come back, jump from the edge, falcon punch them OFF the screen, and the timer running out before I hit the bottom barrier...
