Hi guys, i'd like some critique on an idea i had for a mmo.
Not that I'm doing anything with it, It'll probably be forgotten and stacked away in my mind  :P

My idea is the following:
The great concept of the game is a world with a lot of kingdoms and citys in it.
You start off neutral and normal and after you reach a certain level you will need to join or start a guildlike party.
You don't have to but the game is based on it.
After you're in a guild you joined a kingdom, since a guild can only excist if it has 1 main city/village.
The goal of the game is to, with all your guildmates, have the biggest kingdom out of lots of city's and villages.

You and you're guild also need 2 have money since it's used to protect the city with guards (NPC's u buy) and better walls and doors.
There will be A LOT of city's in the game and there will have 2 be more and more coming out on later versions.
There will be some system so that a kindom has a max size that prevents 1 guild from ruling the whole game...

That's part of the idea, tell me what u think  :)

EDIT : I placed this here since it is possible for this to become a project.

Usually, RPGs that revolve entirely around PvP competition do not work out well.

element

Not that much PvP more like getting to the point in the city where you turn the switch and become the ruler of the city, ofcourse by battling, also make use of secret corridors...
And No, the switch is just a temporary replacement of the real thing that makes u king.
Really more like a online stratigy RPG.

Wooooow...
Yeah that got close  :P
Never herd of this game or the idea before lol.
Guess if i'm making this game i'll have to make it more unike by ading other things.

element

Ok so I changed the concept a bit.
The Idea is now a part of the game not the main point of the game.
I started on this project and I'm making it pretty fast.
The only thing I still need is a name.
Concept is now : 4 factions each with their own special use of magic have seperate kingdoms.
U must choose a faction and help them stand strong in the war between factions, Also by taking over citys wich then belong to your kingdom.
actually there are 5 factions, but u can only choose out of 5 the fifth are the rebelions wich don't participate in the war but when u take over their city they will try to take it back.
A city to take over is actually a lot like a dungeon/instance with a lot more special things in it.

Any idea's for names?

Sase

Names should be the last priority when writing a plot and making the actual game. They can be changed almost at any time and aren't of great significance to the story.

element

Wrong, Names are always high priority. It makes people reconize the game and have something to talk about.
Also, I cant start a project thread without a name...

Why should people recognize the persons and the game if it hasn't been released yet? I still strongly believe names should be your last concern.

Blizzard

Names are part of the identity of a character. Whether you accept it or not, a name is important.

element

Indeed.
I don't really need character names more like a game's name.
I'll come up with something soon.

A good name kan make someone download the game even without knowing anything about the game.  :)

Blizzard

I always found intriguing names to be best. Something like K.A.P.U.T.T. (don't steal it, it's already taken by us :P) You don't know what it's about of what's going on so you become curious. And the name is intriguing. "Kaputt" means broken in German.
