Discuss.

The first time I played this game was when I was like 8 and I rented the Final Fantasy  something or other from Movie Gallery. It came with Final Fantasy IV (which bored me to tears) and Chrono Trigger, which I fell in love with. Eventually, they got rid of that game, so until recently when I got the ROM I haven't been able to play it.

I'm just now getting back to the End of Time the first time :P

Chrono Trigger. One of the most classic games. And one of the only games I played fairly to obtain the last of the endings, including the Laavos one where Chrono and Marle were your only people. Oh, how the memories drew. It was such a majestic time, though I kept training myself at Hm...what do you call it...Um, Giant's Foot or something, wherever Toma was that use to be the Black Tyrano's Lair (Or whatever that place you call it). I realized there was a better training ground I think, somewhere around...You know what, I actually don't remember anymore unfortunately. But by the time I finished, everyone was over Level 50 and I fought the Final Laavos. Then I began the game once more, with Chrono at the beginning again, Level 54 or 57 with Marle, duking it out. I won easily. :3

Ah, I feel so happy. Especially with those funny credits.

I never made it past the first fight with Magus :P I'm replaying it, now, though, so maybe I'll beat it.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING will ever compare to Chrono Trigger.  It's without a doubt one of the finest games ever made.

On a bit of a side note.  Later on you can get Magus in your part (and no, this isn't a cheat).  I think at one point after the fight with him you're asked if you want to dispatch him, answer "no."  If I remember right after the

His name is Cyrus. And I had Magus, he was one of my final people. I believe my final team to fight Laavos was Crono, Magus, and Robo. They were all high levels, so I was happy.

Oh! Now I remember my training ground. It was the Zeal Palace, so I trained there as I was progressively going to beat that corrupt queen. :P

I was also over LV50 when I got to Lavos. There's no way I would go fight him before I finished all the other quests. ;D

I've played it through 2 times so far, one was a few months ago. I never got Magus, though. I suppose I was to rushing and killed him. xD When I played the game the second time I completely forgot about the fact that I had a scythe in my inventory the first time and suspected that Magus could join the party since I killed him again. ._.
My party was Chrono, Glenn (not Cyrus ::)) and Ayla. I tried several combinations and realized that this party can do quite some damage together, each character for himself and that they had good healing capabilities.

And I didn't kill Lavos with just Chrono and Marle. O_o You get different endings with different people or...?

I agree, CT really is one of the finest old-school games.

Oh, I thought he was referring to Frog's old master, the one that kinda died and had a memorial, that's why I said Cyrus. The regular ending is what you get when you finish every side quest. You go to the bucket, or you demolish the Epoch, either one. After that however, you get a New Game +. The one where I fought Lavos with just Crono and Marle during the Fair at the beginning of the game was the Secret Developer's Ending. I thought it would've been hard since you would be a Level One Crono, and your only source of training is Gato. But when I got my awesome Crono back, I knew it was easy.

Lol, I have to try that out once. ;D
And not only that, I want all endings. :O

EDIT: Crap, there are more than 10. I might still consider doing it, though. ::)

Getting the eleven endings aren't the easiest piece of cake. Your ending is determined through the current major event is happening, which begins from the Fair, then the first time at the End of Time, and whatever other major event comes. Each one isn't so special, but some of them are completely humorous, as Crono being some Reptilian in one of the endings.

There are 14 endings. And I hear that if you lose to Magus you get an extra one where he kills Lavos himself 0_o.

Blizzard

There are more than 12 and all of them have little variations which really do depend on some small actions. (Google is your friend ;))

I had most of my characters up to level 60 but then again I did all the side quests.

I was a bit of a completionist with Chrono Trigger becasue I loved the game and wanted to see all 28 of the endings.

CT is arguably the BEST rpg I've ever played. I think I'll play it again, it's been long (and discover some other endings).

Too bad Chrono Cross wasn't nearly as good

Not that it was bad or anything, just the menus hurt my eyes.

Ah, this brings back quite some memories... And now it's even going to be released for the DS I'm so happy, I could burst to tears!
I always used Magus, Lucca and Robo in my Party cause I loved that asskicking OmegaFlare! And you get different endings, depending where and when you beat Lavos, there are several ways to do this... for example at The End of Time, or in which time period you beat the Black Omen. I might be wrong though.
Just thinking about it makes me wanna play it again... *grabs his old SNES and goes to play it*

I hav...

wait before I say anything, do not kill me/flame me/ban me/other stuff me. :plz:

I haven't played Chrono Trigger.

*Cringes*

But I downloaded the rom, and am playing it now.

Oh, and on google, guess what else I found:  It seems that they are developing a port to the DS that will be released shortly:

I can't wait for the release of the DS Version of Chrono Trigger. I want to see how they'll make some changes. :)

shdwlink1993 would so totally suggest the re-translation of Chrono Trigger, ROM wise. >_> He was a big fan of that new version, since it really upped the dialogue ante.

On the top of the DS release, how was it. I know they changed Frog's speech to normal English.

Calintz

I enjoyed the "Frog" theme ...

Chrono Trigger was great, but not really for the battles, it was too Final Fantasy, didn't really require much strategy. I got through by basically spamming to no end without any sort of powerleveling- going for the longest ending and doing every sidequest I could (and avoiding just as many enemies). The multiple endings was the really revolutionary part, and the graphics for the time? I might just go wank off right now. But I won't, because that'd be gross.

I heard that the Chrono Trigger re-release had a new sidequest and bridged to Cross, which is good because Cross was just freakishly orgasmic. Unfortunately they didn't do a graphic update, but that's not too bad because when it comes to sprites, Chrono Trigger does it best. I also think there might've been another ending or so, but I don't know, can anyone verify?
