Blizz-ABS vs. XAS

But I'm not going to be an ass. I will allow the use of plugins and the most advanced versions. Also, plugins don't count as custom scripts anymore. How about that? No limit to supporting scripts and plugins for the system.

And that means we can use the CRLS plugin for bABS, as well as aqua's addon. With those at our disposal, and some sexy animations, the bABS games will pwn, unless computerwizoo suddenly becomes a great spriter

i used both, i do agree Xas is more flashy but experimenting with Babs it can look JUST AS GOOD. just need to replace a few things so on the upside Babs FTW,

Obviously, you haven't played any old school games (N64 and PS1 and older), because those games were ALL gameplay, and let me tell you, they were AWESOME.  Acutally, they are still fun to go back and replay, as shown by the multiple remakes of classics.

Wow, those are such nice words for a fellow like him. 

This has just turned into an amusing childish argument thread...Should this eventually go into retirement? Nah, let's keep this and see what will happen to this thread when competition sprouts from the ABS Showdown...Maybe Blizz-ABS will face a new opponent in this thread.

I must ask you this as well, CW7. Why haven't you signed up for the big competition? You could use it to teach all us "noobish" Blizz-ABS users that XAS is a far better Action Battle System and gain the respect and admiration of pretty much everyone else in the contest at the same time.

You've even signed up on multiple forums to denounce BABS to the general public, and support XAS, but you haven't signed up? That's a little odd...

I personally suspect that someone has realized that they're in over their head at this point. Not giving any names or anything...

when you say prepare the database you mean literaly like i can go into Rmxp and set up chars skilll insert the script and stuff...or do you mean write it out...like i do when i set up an event...ps are custom event syetems designed to work for only one abs allowed...

Well, I think going into database and creating the skills actually is ok since it will be a short game and there probably won't be many skills anyway. Not like it will change much if you do it when the contest actually starts, but it's fine if you put them together in the database already. It's still just preparation, isn't it?

Also, yes. Event systems are not scripts. Even if they were scripts, they would be plugins or extensions so you can use them without problems or any kind of penalty.

In a topic 10 pages long, I fail to see the logic.

On the one side, we have a person claiming that the work of another person (is Mog his name? I can't remember) is better than that of Blizzard's, and in a quite childish way.
On the other side, we have a solid and serious scripter defending his work against the slander of the aforementioned person.
Even if the computerwizoo guy wins this argument and XAS is indeed better, what does it matter to him? I'd like to see him try coding his own ABS from scratch before flaming other people's work.

Nor do I believe the Blizz-ABS vs. XAS is a serious argument at all.
Blizz-ABS is undeniably cleaner and smarter. Flashiness has nothing to do with the script at all.
On the other hand, XAS is (i believe) older, which means Blizzard worked on his own ABS knowing what to avoid.
That however does not change anything. I've seen both and Blizzard's is the ABS that really got my attention.
