I'm thinking of quitting creating games with RPG maker as there's too much things I don't understand and no one replied(not even like read the manual yourself or what).I don't think I have enough time to build games now and I just wanting to quit.

Just wanting to focus study...

Blizzard

Alright, it's your choice. It's just that most people don't bother answering if you aren't ready to try something out yourself. If you're gonna ask for every single detail, you might as well let others do the entire game for you.

O_O its easy... VERY EASY. I didn't rely on forum posts to create a game with over 6-8 hours of gameplay. And that's my FIRST game.
Sorry but:

o.O And I leveled you down.
If he doesn't understand RMXP and wants to quit, it's his choice and absolutely no reason to level him down. I wouldn't level you down for saying that you don't understand
music theory, even though I think it's not that hard.

@rpgmakerfanhaha: As Blizzard said, it's your choice, if you give up this fast, your game would have never been finished anyways. But I think you should try to follow some tutorials (there are some really good ones) and mess around with RMXP, at least that's how I learned everything, lol. I even managed to learn some basic scripting just by looking at Blizzards's script. It's all not as hard as it seems to be.

Blizzard

Yeah. I primary learned Ruby through reading others' scripts as well. As for RMXP, I just tried out what each event command does. Then I started messing around a bit.

Someone told me about this site and I guess I'll post it:

@sub:
I know its his choice. My point was that he gave up too easily.

The best way to learn it to experiment.

@RPGMakerFan:
How old are you??
This is actually more relevant to creating games than you think??

If you're still young, then you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. The engine wasn't created by kids, nor was it really intended for them. How many 12-17 year old employees do you see in the gaming industry who are responsible for more than just BETA testing??

I don't know how old you are, and even if you're 18+ don't give up hope. This system seemed overwhelming to me at first, but through hands on experimentation I learned more about the system than anyone could have ever hoped to explain over these forums. Take your time ... This isn't something you can learn overnight.

Should you decide to leave, I wish you the best. -open arms for a hug-

Here's some truth for you:

You don't have the drive to make games right now.  I'm not saying that you will never be able to make games, but you can't right now.
You don't have the maturity to take on large projects yourself right now.  You will probably get this in a few years.

You got in over your head.  It doesn't make you a failure, it just means that you are a little too ambitious.  Try again in a few years if you want to, or not.

Good luck

Hmm, I could've sworn I've heard someone say this somewhere.... or maybe I read something similar.

Anyway, although its your choice, I'm hoping you don't give up. (it would be cool to play a game created by you :D)

Eh, game creation is rough. Especially solo. If you thought you could create an awesome game, solo, you're a little over your head. If you take a look at great games in the past, like Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, etc, you'll realize they have teams and shit for that stuff. And they've got time and dedication to pull it off. Takes em a few years, with a full development team. And, I'll be honest, you're just an unexperienced person. Your odds of success are very slim. And even if you succeeded, your game wouldn't be the greatest. My solution, give it time. Gain the freaking experience and level up! >8U I was in the same boat as you, lmao. I was 12 years old and wanting to create video games. But you know what? I never finished a game yet xD Now, I'm 16, and four years older. I'm actually serious on finishing a game now.

Oh, and also, I think you have to look at it like, "I make games as a hobby, not a task". If it's fun to create games, then don't quit. If you dislike it, then by all means.

hey dude, I leveled you back up. I think I was alittle too harsh/ stupid for posting that earlier. I still hope you don't give up though.

Oh hey, I didn't level you guys at all because caring about levels is like caring about penis size. <3 ( :V: )

rpgmakerfanhaha is...I think he's 12? If I'm wrong, it's somewhere around that range.

It's best to learn through independence than dependence. Experiment and toy around with massive sandboxes like these. It's definitely up to you, yes. Hopefully you'll jump back into this and have more fun with the engine. ^^

What's osu!? It's a rhythm game. Thought I should have a signature with a working rank. ;P It's now clickable!
Still Aqua's biggest fan (Or am I?).

Sima Yi

Wow I'm surprised that you're twelve. :o

I think to leave the RPG maker alone is your decision and I cannot persuade you to stay, because this system,in my opinion,it's quite comlicated if you can't cooperate.

I tried to read his profile, but seems he had deleted the account.

If it's that how it is, go to your mama and cry.

Thanks everybody for your motivating posts, but this one is hopeless.
