Vell

again i do believe we are arguing seperate debates.

Fallen Angel X

The arguement stemmed from a certain someone saying books are more epic than Elizibethian English. Which of course Dio took it a step further and assumed the comparison is between language in general and books in general. In this kind of arguement, there is no winner. Merely because there is no simple, one is better than the other answer. Sadly enough, I understand both of the viewpoints. And yes, in a sense you both are arguing different debates. How? Ulta is comparing Books in general to Elizibethian while Dio is arguing books in general with language in general.

Vell

yes. so, before things get out of hand, I suggest ending the debate.

Fallen Angel X

Before things get out of hand? I personally like debates... But if you wish it so, I'll comply for now. :ninja:

Vell

I can get a bit... Heated... in debates. especially if i didn't come prepared for one. I tend to get annoyed when the other can't understand - or refuses to understand - my point. and then i get angry. and then I start Capsing. and then the other does. and then...

Fallen Angel X

Ah, so I see. You get really into the debates then? Well, I see your point so let's continue on with our love for books... err your love for books. Unfortunately for me I don't find the time to read any.

Vell

then you must. books are wonderful things.

Fallen Angel X

Some of them are. Others... don't deserve to be called books. But that's my opinion. And I can't find any books that fit my mood..

Vell

books aren't supposed to fit your mood; they are supposed to fit your interests.

they aren't a movie or a good song. ir even manga or comic books. literary, NOVEL-level, books are stuff that are supposed to make YOU feel.

This thread should be locked for making complete logical sense and not random crap more than 78% of the time... this is FREAKIN SPAM!...  :V:

Vell

freaking. yes. it should be moved to a more appropriate section.

MODS, please?

Fallen Angel X

Yeah, but when I'm in a good mood, I don't feel like reading depressing books. I want something more... happy? And in terms of interests? My interests change on mood too.. :P

Vell

books will fix that if you start reading.

Fallen Angel X

There used to be a time when I enjoyed reading but now? Now I just don't have that urge to read anymore..

Vell

well. whatever then.

Diokatsu

Sadly, most men and women feel that books lose their luster after long periods of time. It's more than neccessary to FORCE youself to read a GOOD book. No matter who you are you have a preference. My favorite book at the current moment happens to be Catch-22. It's prolly the funniest book I've ever read and prolly the one I've understood least. Books aren't going to always be what you want, but I gurrentee that you'll never regret reading book if you truly love them. Books aren't bad in any sense of the word in my opinion, just some seem less than appropriate to be called book. Nevertheless, it is someones work and therefore precious.

Fallen Angel X

I don't have anything against the author or their work ._. And indeed I do respect books. I just can't see myself reading a book anymore. If I can't force myself to do the mandatory things in life, I can't force myself to do something that's extra..

Diokatsu

Books are only extra if you make them that. You can make books an important part of your life as well, for that matter.

Fallen Angel X

I find books extra just b/c it's not a necessity. You dont need to read books to live. They're more of a hobby or something to pass time with. I mean, I understand they're important to pass knowledge from 1 generation to the other but there's always other ways to pass information around. I mean, I'll read a book if they forced me at school but not during my spare time.
