GAX

I haven't downloaded the demo yet but I've found issues with your game from the screenshots.  If you're gonna have a dark game, use a light text so it is readable.

Rule 2: ShowHide
Quote from: Rule No.2Keep your signatures at reasonable size. The pictures in your signature may altogether be no more than 200kB and take up an area of 1600px2. That means 2 pictures of 400x200 are fine, one picture of 800x200 is fine and so on. Also your pictures height must not exceed 200 pixels, width can be as big as you want as long as your pictures match the other criteria. Every signature not matching this criteria is a subject of the moderator team to remove and leave this rule as message in your signature.

I appreciate the input, but those screenshots are about 2 versions old. I'm now using Blizzard's ABS and the text is a bright green color, like the green of the really old text-only computers. :P

Let me know what you think when you download it! :)

You know, I'd appreciate a smaller download probably on a host which has download resuming :)
113 mb takes... days to download on my PC :(

I know it's big...

I have a solution: It would greatly reduce the file size if I removed the sound files. If I remove them, I can upload a version w/ and w/o sound, but the file sizes would be different. Just a suggestion, but if you want I can do that.

you might try a different compression format to get it smaller zip is not the best

Days...? This download took me a minute

Anyways, I will try out your game and give you feedback. Looks good btw.

EDIT:

Yeah.. GAX is right about your game, its very dark and very hard to see the enemies. I also couldn't read the text very well, I stopped playing the game shortly after.

Fantasist

@mumerus: Yeah, days in practical sense. More like 12-18 hours, considering I'll be browsing at the same time.

@Terry: I can't stand a game without sound... I know this can be time-taking, but instead of removing the sound, can you re-encode them? Just get a conversion software and convert them into lower bitrate files. You keep the master copies mind you. Just make smaller ones for the upload. You know what? Why don't you check out my tute? I'm not advertizing. I started typing out tips and I realized I already did that in the tute. Just check the sections 3 and 5.

Thanks, Fantasist. I'll definitely take a look at it.

I should be able to convert their bitrates in Audacity, right? If not do you know of a program that will let me convert the bitrates?

I'll PM you in 5 mins, check it :)

Thanks to people's help the demo is now at around 66 MB (Uncompressed in a RAR/ZIP.). I'll be uploading a new version soon. :)

Unfortunately I have decided to completely scrap what I have of LD. I really don't like where it was going. So, this can be moved back to New Projects or something and I'll update it with a new story soon. :)

I'd still like to see the demo, just for kicks though.
All the best :)

The story and character description is unreadable  :O.o:

Starrodkirby86

Yeah...too bad Terry scrapped this project or was planning to renovate it into a movie...

And he isn't even active in here anymore...It's no use talking to a dead guy, as they say. :P

What's osu!? It's a rhythm game. Thought I should have a signature with a working rank. ;P It's now clickable!
Still Aqua's biggest fan (Or am I?).

Calintz

Oh...
I didn't know he isn't active any longer... :^_^':
