There is only 1feature to date that XBOX has that the PS3 doesn't that disappoints me.. .. ..he ability to listen to ANY music stored on your hard drive while you play. Other than that I can't see any reason to buy an XBOX over a PS3.

Have any of you guys played "Bujingai?"
Very similar battle system to the Devil May Cry and Chaos Legion games. You could also soar through the air and run along walls. Added for interesting attack positions. =D.

OH MY GOD, THANK YOU! I was searching for the title of that game for AGES. I remember beating it back when I was like 10. Awesome game, thanks for the title!

Yeah I agree with you there on the music thing.
I was playing the 360 with my cousin at his house and he opened up his music on it while playing MW2 and I was like o_O.
I tried to do it at home on my PS3 and it said "Music content cannot be played during use of this game." I almost cried.

Some games do support in-game Music Playing apparently as I just looked it up to see if it was just an issue with MW2 on PS3. I'll see if I can find a list to see supported games.
Also another good feature that should be coming out is built-in Netflix support. Meaning instant streaming without a disc. Which is good for me cause I'm too lazy to switch out Netflix with MW2.

Quote from: kornchil2002That really isn't the best answer as it isn't even an answer.  I know this topic has been discussed ad nauseum but many people including myself want this feature.  The Xbox 360 has had it from day one back when it launched in November of 2005.  This is yet another feature that the PS3 lacks that the Xbox 360 has had for quite a bit of time.  If Sony wants to compete then they need to surpass the Xbox 360 in the amount of features and right now, this feature is still only on the Xbox 360.  Now there are some games for the PS3 that support it but they are Super Star Dust HD and that bowling game.  So it is time to get in gear and finally become a competitor.

In answer to someone else's comment about asking if you can listen to music while playing.
It's not really confirmed that they will implement XMB yet. Which is basically using everything on your Media Bar on the Home Screen while playing a game. In short, music while gaming.
But I really hope they do implement this as it's pretty much the only thing I find that PS3 is missing out on.

Quite literally the only feature the PS3 lacks. Get your head out of your ass lmao. How about fucking blue-ray. PS3 had it from day one and it's not just a novelty feature that people would "like" to have. It's a requirement for the next-gen of gaming.

Calintz

PS3 has the XMB.
I have my PS3 and I am able to do everything in my media bar so far. I have yet to try to play music, hold on. Let me transfer some and give it a go. I know that my PS3 has XMB though. It's listed in my manual and on the list of features of playstation. com.

Hence the PS3 is three times as expensive as other consoles. -_-

No the PS3 is $299 which is the same price as the Xbox 360 Elite. This is atleast American prices. And rumor has it that there is going to be another price drop on the PS3. The only thing the elite has over the PS3 slim is that it comes with a headset. But then you have to pay for Xbox Live. Oh and the PS3 does not need a wireless adapter to go online if you use a wireless router.

Won't seem so expensive when other people go out and have to fit their consoles with blue-ray players.

Landith

Yeah, the headset that sony made for the PS3 is only $50 as well, which isn't too bad. You can buy an off brand for like $35 I think. Or if you already have a headset for your phone or what not just check to see if it's compatible and you have one.

Yes, the XMB comes with PS3 as it's the Cross Media Bar. But what I was talking about was being able to use all features on the XMB. Like you can't change setting while in-game unless it has to do with your mic. You can talk to people but you can't listen to music. You can view your Trophies but not look at Save Data while in-game. I'm hoping that Sony releases an update to were you can do all those things on the XMB in-game.

The PS3 isn't that expensive when you think about what your getting. Because even if you buy an elite you pay for Internet, a wireless adapter, a blu-ray player and chargeable batteries (since the controllers run on batteries you need chargeable ones to be even with Sony's Dual Shock 3 controllers). Oh and I don't think Xbox has built-in Bluetooth compatibility either. Which takes out you using your own Bluetooth headset and having to stick with theirs or buying a Turtle Beach(which is pretty bad-ass if I say so myself).

The only bad thing I would have to say about a PS3 is that since the new slims have better cooling units, the new update, 3.15 was for the slim and not the phat. Well... after the new update if you have a phat, you have a higher chance of over-heating your PS3 which will end up costing you ~$90 for a refurbished one. But shouldn't be a problem with yours as you are getting a slim. Just saying cause I have a slim and a phat and I'm afraid to update the phat until I have money to refurbish it :/

I have the slim.. .. ..
Thanks for clearing that up Landith, Lol.

I truly don't believe the PS3 is overpriced any longer. What it was priced makes no difference now. All that matters is that it is now $299.00 with everything you could ever want in a gaming system without the XMB full function-ability. Don't think it's overpriced.

Lore

Well, I do agree, I would have gotten a PS3, since I was a huge Sony fanboy when I was little.

I got PSX and PS2, ah, good ol' Spyro, Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter days. However, the one sole reason I got a 360 was just due to the fact that all my friends had it. I'd much rather play over Live with buddies from school than sit and play Single Player, or online with some random people. I love Sony, always been an amazing company, but I'm with the Xbox 360 just because I have that connection with friends.

Ah, so they did drop the price after all. I remember that the high price was a huge drawback in the beginning. Lots of people wouldn't buy it because of that.

@Blizzard:
Yes sir, but that was the old days. They are reasonably priced now.

@Lore:
That's understandable, however, your friends probably only got the XBOX because it was cheaper than the PS3.
If you ask me Microsoft needs to give up. They make games for our computers, and that's where they should leave it. They are a computer company. Let better corporations like Sony handle the gaming systems. Sony is the leader in innovation for a reason. But more on your point...I would prefer single player games, because I grew up playing single player RPGs rather than shooting games with buddies that came over. Besides, unless you have thousands of friends, you are gonna end up playing with complete strangers anyway.

That's actually why they got the 360, and they refuse to buy the PS3. I actually have quite a large collection of friends that have a 360, so at least 5 of them are always on when I sign into XBL.

Update:
Ladies and gents...
God of War I has been conquered. On to God of War II. =D.

Landith

Gratz :D
I need to get back on my GoW game.
Been spending way to much time on Assassin's Creed II and Modern Warfare 2. They are highly addicting though lol

It's not conquered until you beat God Mode :)
Trust me, it's not THAT hard. Just learn to block and evade :P

However, Titan mode in God of War II is a whole different story >.>

Lol, good point.
I have beaten both games now...on to god and titan modes!!

Landith

Dang your fast o_O
I played yesterday and only got to the Athens part and that was after like 2-3 hours or so :/
After I beat a game I normally up the difficulty or if it has trophies I go back and try for all the trophies.
(I normally fail at the trophies though :P)
